Default end the jic rear debate

I've done a search for jic coilovers and the rear suspension espeicially. There is much difference of opinions regaurding the rear spring perch configuration. Some people say the perch is best at the top some say at the bottom. Now, what is the true result? The rubber spring "saddle" has to be left on the lower control are so that the perch sits even. Is another mount to be used at the top?
Which combo makes things function properly? My set up is with the perch on top.
someone put this to rest.
