Lower Tie Bars...
First of all let me say thanks to everyone that has helped me with my suspension so far (Amy,joust, etc). Now a question. Are the lower tie bars for the Z really worth it. When I had my Spec V the Nismo Lower Tie Bar was a Godsend due to the tendency for wheel hop. But that was on a FWD car. When I put it on my Spec not only did it reduce the wheel hop when launching but the car felt stiffer and turn in was greatly improved. My question is do the Lower Tie bars for The Z have a similar effect. While I have not heard of nor had any wheel hop in my Z (it would be strange if I did) I was thinking of getting these for the effects they had on turn in. I loved the way my Spec V felt with just a front Lower Tie Bar installed. Would the same happen on the Z. For $150 I guess it wouldn't hurt. if they were more I would have to see a good review of them before even considering it but for only $150 for the set still...is it worth it...thanks in advance for your help...
Heres a link to the ones I was looking at... http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?m...ing&prodid=937

Heh, I asked the exact same thing a few weeks ago with the mere response of "those things are overpriced; my friend could make them cheaper for you but won't."

I'd love to know if they are worth anything. I contacted GT Spec directly about a group-buy but they pointed me towards one of their distributors (Z1 Auto) about a group buy. I'll shoot them a PM now to see if they would be interested in facilitating one.
If anyone has these or similar bars, please chime in!

The only problem with tying the LCAs together is that YES you are creating a stiffer car... the problem is street tires will NEVER generate enough friction for you to find that stiffness evident.
Out on a track, race compound, etc... you MIGHT be able to tell a difference.
Otherwise, all blinged out yo... l00ks MaD TIght!

I had front and rear lower ties on my 01 celi and the front made a huge difference but the rear was for looks only. Since the z is rwd I would expect the rear bar to do little and the front bar to have a modest effect in snap to center steering and on turn-in.
Hey buy a set and let us know

I've had a set on GT Spec front and rear bars for almost a month now. Since the rear was so much easier to install as a DIY'er, I had a chance to test the rear for a week before installing the front.
IMO, the rear did help the back bite a bit better. Even before the front went on, I doubted it would help much b/c the front's lower suspension components already bolt to the subframe, the front tire bar is just another extension to it. As I figured, I really didn't feel much from the installation of the front. Still, for $150 it was worth it, and even better was that it was a free mod for my AutoX class. Who knows, with R compounds down the road it cold be even more worthwhile.
