Default Affects of lowering on suspension geometry?

I know on Miata's and Mustang's lowering the car negatively affects the geometry. I.E. the roll center lowers more than the center of gravity (or something like that) so that once it's lowered it increases the roll tendency becuase of the compromised geometry. I'm far from an expert on this and barely understand it, but I'm trying to give an example of my inquiry on other cars. So does lowering a Z have the same affect or are there no negative trade offs except maybe a slightly increased tendency to hit the bumpstops?

I'm very curious about this so hopefully somebody knows something about this.

Throws off camber and toe on the rear a lot. And camber up front a little.
