Im gonna go ahead and say I love my Z and cant see myself in anything else but maybe an M3, love the look and aggression it puts out. Other then that... Z all the way. Not a fan of the 03 due to all the problems but thats just a personal preference

If you can make the monthly payments work www.capitalone.com, I'd get either an '05 or an '06 350Z. I'd look at www.carmax.com too.

not all 03's have problems... its a realtively small percentage.. its just looks worse because those are the people that post. naturally you dont post when you have had a couple good years with no probs... only when you need help with something that is wrong. just chech the car out for the tire feathering, rear acle clicking, and **** transmission and if those things are fine, you should be okay.

I would get 04. There are tons of people trying to sell their 03 with tire feathering and transmission prob, I wouldn't risk it. Wait and save up for an 04.

I agree, I would aviod getting 03's. If you really want one though try and recall the last car you had that had problems...that could be you, but hey its a 350Z!

my 3/03 6 m/t never had any major problems except for the front tires replacement done under warranty and the tires are still good after 10k miles with their new alignment spec.
BTW.....the 03Z is the only car that i'm planning to keep. i normally do not keep a car for longer than two years. But the Z.....after two years and eight months, i still haven't gotten tire of driving it yet.

Welcome. No one can assure you that the car you buy will be perfect in every way. That’s not the way that sports cars are bought: you see it, fall in love, then buy it. Any car that you buy will be discounted for model year, mileage, potential problems and other factors: you get what you pay for. As I’ve said before...

This is reliable transportation.

This is a 350Z. Any questions?

I have an 03 with zippo problems but if I was buying used I'd get an 04 just to be on the safe side.

thanks guys. pope you really have a point, davidv you also have a point but im going to be using this for a daily driver when i get out i and being a 2003 the car should be at least somewhat reliable no matter what kind of car it is. my last daily driver sports car was a 95 skyline, never had a single problem with it besides the passenger window motor went out on it. but in the winter she still ran like a champ and we get 240 inch a year here. well once again thanks guys im prolly gonna go ahead and still get it

Personally, I'd stay away from an '03 and save up for a little while longer. If you'll be stretching yourself thin enough that you couldn't afford a newer model for a little bit more, you're going to be in a spot if the car ends up having the usual feathering/tranny/window motor problems. None of them are cheap fixes out of pocket.

Yeah, in japan you have to make sure that your car adheres to the strict regulations of the japanese motor department. Thats why you can get used skylines, z's and etc for really good deals. but if you wanted to transport them over to the US, you'd pay up the a$$ for it. But get the Z, you know how Nissan does performacnce cars. You'g be happy with an 03, 04, 05 or an 06.... =)

I thought the 04's had some problems too, much like the 03's. Have the 04's had overall less problems?

from what i understand cubbie they fixed some problems with the 04s not all the kinks were out but i guess the trannys' were ok with most of them. but then again it was only a portion of the 03s that had problems too!
