Default How to sell my '05 350z Touring

I've recently come into serious financial strain, and I've got to sell my Z

When I first bought it a few months ago I did a car pc mod, and to remove it would definitely leave the car with some cosmetic "holes" (literally)

I'm wondering what my options are at this point.. if i go back to a dealership and try to sell it back, what will happen?

What happens if i just call Nissan and say I can't afford it?

I'm just wondering what my full range of options are at this point, whether it would affect my credit negatively or not.

- Selling it back to the dealership will leave you owing on the remaining balance on your loan, bad idea imo.
- Calling Nissan and telling them you can't afford it and letting them repo it is also a BAD idea, you think you financial problems now, wait until it shows up on your credit report! very bad idea!

Your best option is to sell it outright, drop the price to what you owe, hopefully you got it for a good price. If not then it is going to be hard to sell it. Look at kbb.com and compare what you owe to what they list it for.

As for the PC mod, it might hurt the price a bit but then again it depends on the buyer.

a. Sell the car to the dealer.
b. Sell the car to a private party.
c. Drive the car to the dealer. Hand them the keys and say I can't afford it.

None of the options are very good. Most likely you are upside-down on the loan. Option c will ruin your credit for 7 years.

Note to self: always pay cash for a car.

that sucks that you have to sell the Z. Like the others have said dont call Nisan and say you cant afford it. Try to sell it out right to someone. Ever thought of selling your body to make some money to keep it?

if you want to make money on it, sell it to canadians. the price on them here is crazy compared to the states. I am looking to buy right now and the cheapest 03 i have seen is over 32K canadian. That's 28K USD!

money inflates. money is worth less each day, so dont pay cash. finance and pay lesser value dollars later

I would first recommend private party. There is also a CARMAX in Hartford, CT. They will typcially offer you more than a trade-in, so if you need money quick and can't afford to wait for your price through private party, I'd go there. I've had some good experiences unloading two cars there (Laurel and Richmond). I didn't buy anything there either.
