Default Might get my Z within a few weeks, one quick question about pricing...

I wanna get an enthusiast, i've been waiting for a while because I had some other priorities, but a dealer just called me and said they got one in PPW 6 spd....and that's exactly what i wanted...he said i would pay MSRP + tax, title, etc...anyone out there getting a little better then MSRP? I see a lot of Z's on dealer lots and don't think they're real "limited" anymore, i was hoping for 28 out the door...any suggestions?

p.s. another quick question, what's orange peel?

Orange Peel is a problem they were having with the paint. I'm not sure if it's resolved now or not. Did you try searching for it? I'm sure you could find out a lot about it that way.

It will definitely pay to shop around, especially if you are on the east coast. One guy named "walc" got a touring model for about 29K (before tax, lic. and fees) and he's in Maryland. Not only is this below MSRP it's damn near invoice. Now I wouldn't expect to get the same del but it does sho that pricing might be more flexible at this point.

I got my Touring for quite a bit under list. It can be done in certain places. I paid $2614 under on a new car. Walc, the guy mentioned above, got a car with about 2300 miles on it for a little more off than that.

I bought for $4k under MSRP, which is $1K under invoice. Of course, mine was the GM's demo w/2269 miles on it.
On the East Coast, at this time, you should be able to buy for at least $1k to $1.5k off msrp w/minimal shopping around.
You can get good deals on sports cars when the ground is covered w/snow and ice.
Good luck!

I'm pretty new to this site, but have to brag about my deal. I got $1000 off my special order Daytone Blue Track, with no BS dealer add-ons. And I live in the midwest where there really aren't alot of 350Z's moving (out of the three dealers in my city, none of them have ordered a Track). Yippe for me!

Welcome to the site! This is a great place to be. Did you actually get your Z yet, or just order it? Sounds like a good deal on a great car!

I also convinced my salesrep to come in under MSRP. About $2500. So it can be done. Just negotiate. Be prepared to get up and walk out when they won't listen. It is amazing how more attentive a salesman gets when your back is to them headed toward the door!

Thanks for the welcome WayneTn! My Track should be in the beginning of April; I haven't gotten my VIN yet. But, I agree, just push the salesman around a little bit and they will help sell you a car at your terms ... especially in todays economy.
