Guys,

I might be interested in this car. Owner left the country already and has handed the car over to a family couple to sell the car for him.

Any concern? They have the pink slip, etc.

Is 54k miles too high? Right now my coupe has 29k. . I think it all depends on who takes care of the car.

If it has a clean title and things don't sound to fishy, go for it. It sounds weird but if they have the pink slip and carfax checks out fine, it's probably ok.

54k isn't that high.

 

Is there a potential problem? Yes. The person who has possession of the car is not the name on the title.

 

make sure the title has a notorized signature from the owner.

Did they say why the owner left the country?

I was on the other side of a similar situation...I had to sell my car in Canada when I left for the US, but couldn't in time, so I had my dad sell it for me.

Just make sure you run a carfax, and check for any liens on the car.
