Default so....03 track 35K miles = $20K?? advise please!!

i just got off the phone with an owner w/ the car listed above...03 track, le mans sunset, with 35K for $20,000....

he seems pretty firm on the price...someone offered $19K and was declined...owner is in his late 50's....and states car is in mint condition....oh and a church pastor too!!! (possible no abuse to car??) to me this sounds like a very good deal....

however im thinking this in the back of my mind......
1. 2003 tranny = possible problems
2. no warranty, didnt ask if he has extended service contract or not
3. le mans sunset orange - it's livable!!!

so what you guys think?? to me looks very good...possible we might meet up this weekend to show me the car!!!

let me know good....bad....ugly.... thanks for looking...

I would say go for it. If it's in excellent shape, blue book would be almost 24k. Depanding on how mechanically inclined you are, consider bringing a mechanic or taking it to a shop for an inspection.

The drivetrain is still under warranty for 55k miles, so if you have a tranny problem you're good for a while.

liveable doesnt mean youll love it forever, when i was getting my z i wanted it in ls at first, but then realized even if it grew on me, i dont think i can live with it until i get another car. so i got a redline, red, definitely a color id love forever :-D, and while im at it all my sport cars will be the cliche red my .02

Actually, I think "cliche" would be silver. People are afraid to buy red sports cars nowdays.

The powertrain warranty is good for 5 yrs and 60k so it there is a tranny problem it will be covered. That is a heck of a good price. If you do not like the color then do not get it. It will not grow on you.

You either love LS or you hate it. If you love it, get it. If you think it's just livable, you are going to hate it.

Sounds like a good deal. You can always purchase an extended warranty if you finance the car which will cover most any issues.

Test drive it and see how it feels. But yeah, if you're not excited about the color you'll be looking to sell it in about 6 months.
