But then next thing you know your old car is sitting on their lot a week later.
Will they run a vehicle report for something that is a 2006 model?

The car you are buying? If it is a preown then never ever trust the carfax that the dealership runs for you. Many times they will omit bad info about the car if they can get away with it. My advice is find the car you want. Go test drive it. Get the VIN. Run the check yourself. Work the numbers out and before you buy the car have them write a clause in it saying you will agree to the terms once you take the car to another dealership or 3rd party mechanic for inspection and the car passes to your satisfaction. It is risky to get it inspected at the same dealership. Unless you are back there every step of the way with the mechanic sometime the sales manager can intercept the report and omit pages of it.
If they are smart they will. It really all depends on the dealership though. I have had some that are so ****, they noticed some underspray on the undercarriage that I wasnt even aware of. Other dealerships didnt even bother to test drive the trade-in. Its kinda funny how different some dealerships are.
