Default 05 350z performance with leather? 9k miles for $22,500 GOOD DEAL?

I found one from a local independent dealer? <- i don't know what that is...... but the guy told me I'm going to be the second owner of this car.

Don't I become a thrid owner since the car was sold to the dealer?

I'm confused on this car. I think 05 350z performance model do not come with leather seats right? but he said it comes with leather and power window options. and only 9k miles on it. No salvage title No accident.

Is it good deal? or should I ask around $21k?

according to NADA, it seems a little high but with the low mileage it might be a good deal. Of course I wouldn't take anyones first offer on something like that. I would offer 21k and see if they blonk.

For sure get it checked out. Sounds like it could be a garage queen that someone decided to get rid of.

I'm totally noob at 350z, can you explain what "rev-up' is?

Sounds like a decent deal to me due to low milage....if a mechanic thinks it is in good shape.

Could have aftermarket leather. You might check to see if car has seat heaters. If it does, then it is a Touring model. Dealers often don't know what model they have.

Generally, dealer does not count as an owner. You can check the number of owners by ordering a Carfax.

If its a 2005 and not an 35thanv it doesnt have a rev-up motor

Inspection should be less than 100

Depends on how much you want it inspected. I know I had my vette looked at a dealer (car was out of warranty) and the basic inspection was $100 and I paid $50 extra for a compression and leakdown check, for $150 total. You'll probably be good with just a basic inspection because the car is under warranty. Maybe have a bodyshop put it on a rack and take a look for any damage to the car.

Why are you guys suggesting avoiding the rev-up? Oil consumption started rearing it's head mostly in 06.

And for the OP, the first Z engine was 287HP/276TQ. The "rev-up" came out in 05 and bumped the hp to 300 with the torque going down a bit to 260. But like people have mentioned it was only on the 35th Anniversary Edition and I think the Track models. So going by what you've posted, you're not looking at a rev-up model.

And a for being the 3rd owner...I became the 3rd owner of my car at only 6k miles. The previous dude simply traded it in for a different color z (black to blue).

edit: Also, the dealer should be willing to let you take the car to an independent mechanic where it might be cheaper for the inspection. We paid like $60 or something for a complete once-over on an Explorer we bought a while ago.

Add says it is an Enthusiast model BUT picture shows no cruise control buttons on stearing wheel that I can see. If true, its a Base model.

If you go to look at car, here is easy way to tell model:

-If no controls on steering wheel, its a Base

-If switch on lower left (of steering wheel) says "TCS" its an Enthusiast.

-If switch on lower left says VDC, its a Performance.

-If it has heated seats (controls on center console), its a Touring.

I just came back from Tedt driving. The car is in good condition. and I saw sticker paper when you buy new car. MSRP says $27,xxx something like that. It has no option with it. He is asking $22,500 but there is no way I am willing to pay that amount.

Should I aim $20k flat?

I think $20k would be fair. Tough to tell which trim level it is but like mentioned above, w/out controls on the steering wheel this is most prob a Base.

What's the blue book value on an 05 Base w/ 9k miles?

there is no control on the steering wheel but he was keep mentioning It is a nismo pakage which I really don't understand because the only difference is floor mat says Nismo and the door trim says NISMO. Again on sticker price list, there was nothing added. .....

ERRR!!!! Coming from E46 M3 fully loaded to a base model 350z is really hard!!

Oh also he said his friend is working at nissan and can hook me up with extended warranty 100,000 miles? Is it possible? This guy really don't know about the car. He only drove the Z twice.

Also It doesn't have Xenons. damn, I should've checked the sticker carefully...
