Interest Rates on a Loan
Alright, so i need to get a loan out for 3k and my credit is good. I just want to get some opinions and ideas of which lender to go to for best rates. I know it depends on many things but overall, which one would you go with?
Thank you.
Thank you.
My first post.
I just picked up my 2006 350Z Enthusiast (6M) this past Friday. I got a loan through my Credit Union with a 5.5% fixed rate. I have pretty awesome credit though, so your result may vary.
Kind of cool, cause the guy who originally owned it, was a retired marine. He bought the car new, back in 2005, and had a 5.6% rate on it. So, I thought that was sort of cool that I got a loan for "used" car, lower than what he got it "new". He even had his loan through USAA (available for military personnel and immediate family only), and they tend to get the best rates around.
Now, I noticed that you said "3K" for the loan you're looking for, correct? Usually personal loans will have a higher interest, than home loans or auto loans, since you won't be borrowing near as much.

If the manufacturer is running a finance special, then it may have the best interest rate. However, if you are talking about without any sort of "incentive", USAA has pretty good rates.
In addition, what I've noticed is that USAA's Car-Buying Service has better pricing than even CarsDirect by a couple hundred dollars on some makes.
Thats what im talking about. a personal loan. i already have a car but i need to buy something that costs 3k. but you know what. i changed my mind. ill just keep saving. its not worth it.
