Default 08 350z Touring Price / Buying

Alright, so I got back from a Nissan dealer. The car I want is 08 350z Touring Black on Black, Manual, Leather w/ Heated Seats.

His List Price is $36,710.00

His Invoice Total is $34,463.50

I personally think the Invoice total he gave me is a little high because KBB.com says invoice is $31,019.00. I would pay $32,000 out the door for it. Am I good on this or do you think they will decline my offer. I am paying cash too.

What do you guys think.

I'd say 32 is reasonable. I just met a chick who paid $37000 OTD for a GT.

Never mind his crapola "list" prices.

What is MSRP?
What is invoice?
These are the only two numbers that matter.

Figure out what you think you should pay *in relation to invoice,* and make an offer. Never mind "out the door" numbers; any time you throw tax and license fees into the negotiation you just muddy the waters.

Good luck.

He is probably talking about the Grand Touring trim because if he is talking about just the Touring then he's way off.

http://www.carsdirect.com/build/opti...&restore=false

I would say aim for $31,000.

No. Exactly $30,644 without taxes and stuff. Always be cautious with add-ons like paperwork charge and dealer preparation. They will kill any "good deal" that you have made.

LOL, I think I got pwnd. I bought an '08 Carbon Touring 6MT with Navigation, kick plates, floor mats, aero package, XM and paid $33,500 before TT&L. I did owe over $20,000 on my '05 with 28,000 miles and they offered $18,000.00 at first, but when I started to walk out and showed them the Carmax quote I received they went up to $19,300.00. I ended up trading it in after a lot of negotiating and walked out with the new Z @ a price of $35,000.00 all in, not a penny more.

I'm happy though. My '08 is 100% more fun to drive than the '05...it feels like it's built better, engine turns over much smoother and sounds more throaty, and I LOVE the Carbon color with Charcoal interior. I'd had it with the PPW color.

I can't wait to finish the break in, have the oil changed and start the mods.

Sweet sweet. I'm just trying to find the lowest price possible for an 08 350z Black/Black Touring.

Lowest I have found is from cardirect for $31,474. All other dealers are quoting me higher which is annoying.

So yeah, every dealer I have called has given me these prices...

$32,854 for the car
$32,354 is invoice.

CarsDirect.com has given me a price at $31,474. I think this is the lowest deal that I will find.

Carsdirect is toilet paper they don't sell cars. They sell a combination of your personal information and advertising. They'll let you build a non-existant car, and then make an expectation that you can get it for less than any dealership will sell you one. Nobody's ever paid more than they thought a car was worth at the time, and you are statistically 3-8 times more likely to close a deal if you do not use carsdirect. This is a great example of why I kicked carsdirect out of my store.

About your deal-

There is only one of these cars in our state and region, making it harder to get a deal. Everyone is quoting you the same car, which has over $1,000 in options. Eventually, you'll find the store that has the car if you call around long enough (not my store) and they'll bar the release of the car and hold you captive because everyone has called them to check availability. All my experience tells me $31,xxx isn't going to happen.

Finally - by all recent reports, Nissan of Fife is owned by a woman named Mary, who is not anybody's grandpa.

I'd take seth's advice more than any of the rest of ours put together in this particular case... you've got the most informed info you're going to get.
