Default 08 Touring 350z Demo Question

I currently own a 06 Civic Si, but after test driving the 350z Touring model, I have fallen in love with it. So after the test drive I sat down and talked to the salesmen and quoted me $34090 msrp + it already had nismo dual cai and nismo exhaust for another $1495 bringing the total = $35585.

Here is the kick it is a demo model with 1700 miles on it and i talked him down to $33085 before ttl. This number is assuming i'll trade in my si for $14500 which i think is crap since i only have 22,000 miles on it. I don't think this number is fair since it technically a 'used' car that has never been titled. What do you guys think? Is this a good deal, or u think i can talk him down further? Thanks.

1700 on a demo is a lot! I'd be weary of this one. I leased a demo with like 100miles on it.

Its more difficult to price the car because of the NISMO add-ons. Those items are 50 percent profit. My target price is $31,363.

There is no advantage for the dealer to sell a 2008 demo: he will have to replace it with another demo 350Z.

would that target price apply for a brand new 350z instead of the demo? i ask because the salesmen offered me to get me a new one, but would i have as much of a bargain?

my car was a demo with close to 2,000 miles on it...The Nismo parts are not worth $1500 anymore, they just cant tack that onto the price.

I mean, they can because they do cost that much, but i wouldnt pay 1500 extra for them. especially if theyre trying to short change you on your trade in. Id keep talking to them. Make sure you get the warranty info all straight too, I cant really remember how mine was structured, whether the warranty included the mileage at sale or not.

dont know who Mr. germain is but, yes thats the deal...you should technically be the first registered owner of the car.

check the rear tires, make sure they havent been doing burnouts...lol. seriously.

well at $33085 with nismo cai and exhaust, wouldn't i be better off just getting a brand new one then the demo? i mean it sounds like i can't get the price any lower even though it's 'used'. I forgot to mention I just turned 20 on thursday, so is it possible the salesman is just jerking me around? I have the money for downpayment, and i'm only going to be financing $10000.

As members have mentioned a demo is technically a new car. There are lots threads about buying. All have one point in common: know what you are willing to pay before talking to a salesperson.

Sorry to rez this thread back, but i'm going to the dealership with the demo 350z touring with nismo exhaust and dual intakes with 1700 miles on it for $33,080 before ttl. I have gone to another dealership closer to me and the salesman was a ton nicer than the dealership with the demo i guess cuz they know they've got the only black on black touring in our region. anyways, the other dealer has quoted me roughly $32,500 before ttl for a brand new 350z built from japan, shipped to me in about 6-10 weeks.
What i'm asking is, because it was a demo and from wat i've been reading of demo vehicles being riden hard, wat is the real problems that will arise from this? I was assured by the dealer that the driver of the demo vehicle was indeed the owner of the dealership and he 'properly' broke it in. what are your guys thoughts? thanks for all the input guys!

as i said i bought a demo with 1500+ miles on it...my car will be 6 years old in August with 60k miles.

i havent had any more problems than anyone else, and i have no idea how the car was driven before i bought it. Who knows, you arent going to get a striaght or corrrect answer on this question. So the new one is cheaper? I would say get the new one.

Little. The 350Z is a performance sports car, and deserves to be made to, well, perform. Besides a demo carries a full warranty.

Sell the Honda Civic yourself. They have great resell value. Check Kellybook, and your newspaper and compare private party sells for your Honda. You can make more money on the car, by selling it yourself. Plus with gas currently selling for four dollars, your Civic should be a hot seller right now.

Good luck with your Z purchase. Car salesmen are like cockroaches, I hate dealing with them.

Demos can have anywhere from 100-5000 miles on them, based on dealers preference. I know this personally because my girlfriends family only drives demos.

Things that they do to a Demo car, employee and new car buyers ..... especially for a sports car, I'd stay away from Demo or rental car ..... i'd spend couple grand more and get a 0 mileage Z which you can break it in according to factory manual and have a piece of mind ..... get the demo ONLY if you can lowball them and they accept it ....but be careful if they accept it too fast .. something might be wrong with the car
