Default 03 350z Enthusiast with only 9K

Im buying a 350z enthusiast with less than 9k miles on it. Deal ended up being $17500 plus tax and etc. I saw the car in person and even test drove it. The car was mint and even had the new car smell and feel to it.

Silverstone color, really excited about this one. Carfax states its been only with 1 owner also. Good deal right?

that is a killer deal - I am amazed that it can depreciate that much with only 9k miles on it.

in comparison, I picked up a great local deal with a mint 04 enth w/ 40k miles, but mine was 17.8. I imagine you will find even more unbelievable deals shortly with how the car market is.

an 03 with 9k seems a little strange that it has like no miles on it at all, but its a good deal just make sure it hasn't been in any accidents and all that and you should be good to go.

Keep in mind the issues that '03's have had, ie. tire feathering, transmission, axle clicking, window streaks etc... it is way passed warranty, so if any of these issues crop up, it will be out of your pocket to get them remedied.

With only 9,000 miles I am sure that the car is in beautiful condition. I am a fan of the 2003-2004Z. Go for it.

That's a terrible deal. My friend got an 06 Enthusiast 6MT 10,000 miles for $18000 back in February.

If you're going to spend that much on a 6 year old car (03,04,05,06,07,08), you might as well buy a brand new car.

New car price: $28000
Your price: $17500

Difference: about $11000

$11000/6 years/12 months per year = average depreciation of $145 a month

...hell at that average depreciation rate, I'll buy a brand new car, use it for 6 years, and sell it myself too.

I probably wouldn't call the deal terrible. If both the buyer and the seller are happy, it is a good deal as far as I'm concerned. This "friend" of yours, how many miles on the car, how many owners, what was the maintenance like, what conditions was the car driven in? There are a lot of variables beyond just what the year is. Another variable is the region. In some areas there are a lot more cars available than others and prices will reflect that.

FWIW, I just bought an '06 GT with just under 21k miles. I paid $20k for it. It was a good deal because both I and the seller were happy with it.

He's a MechE major from CMU and he was the Chief Technical Director of their Formula team so he was very thorough with his purchase. The car had less than 10,000 miles, 1 previous owner, and the maintenance was well documented. Leak down test, compression test, and oil analysis were done on the car and it was fine with no oil consumption issues.

my 03 with 75k miles sold for 14,900 2 months ago so I'd say this isn't a bad deal.

In the end, are you happy with it? If so, it's a good deal.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind. He's closer to you than me haha. Huntington Beach, CA. Found a job a couple months ago as an Aerospace Engineer. Good thing he didn't go into finance.

the bank vs. me:

The bank called to verify some info before proccessing my credit application. I have a cosinger on the account. Everything seemed to have gone well.

Later the dealer calls me tells me the bank lowered my approval credit limit cuz i answered "No" to a question that they NEVER ASKED ME!!!

Question was: "If you can't pay the car payment, will your cosigner be reponsible?"

If they did ask me, of course i would say Yes even it was a LIE!!!

But they never did.....what gives?

Seems like a dumb question to ask. That is the definition of “co-signer.”
