Just curious, what was your rate?

I make $2400/month and I can afford it no problem. I bought a used one for $16k though. A new one, no way.

If you're even asking this question then you probably have no business buying a new car. I don't mean that in a mean or belittling way, but thats really how I feel. Just stick with the (limited) financial security you have now.

just to answer some questions...the $2100 is before tax, so after tax I will be bringing home $1700-1800 a month. I have been searching around and I know that life will be hard if I buy a brand new Z, so I am just looking around for a used Z. I already have a plan to pay off my credit card bills in mid-09, so that will be the time when I will buy my Z.

I already know what I want, a 2007 350Z in Daytona Blue or a 2008 350Z in Nagaro Red. By the time the 370Z comes out, I believe there will be plenty of used 350Z for sale for around 20k. People will be trading in their old Z for the new Z and I will be there to catch their old Zs.

The credit card debt was mainly from too much fun in college. Now that I graduated, I need to pay it back. I got an okay job for the time being, but definitely looking for a much higher paying job, but as you may know, finding a good job right now is not so easy with the economy layoffs everywhere.

My credit score is good, last time I checked, I was at 720. So I pay all my bills on time and am never late. I just have some loans under my belt thats all. Plus, anyone know where I can consolidate my loans to save me some money?

I take it you already visited Elk Grove Nissan? I used to live around the area, but either way, if you're in the market, PM me.

Where'd you end up graduating from? Also, another thing I should let you know, even though it's not that much, there is a college graduate rebate through Nissan. It's good for two years after your graduation date.

As far as the job situation, I know it's hard. I was feeling it already when I was in Sacramento two years ago. What's your major in?

720 credit score though, I rarely see that at the dealership.

I've requested a quote from Elk Grove Nissan and got a response back from "Sarge" which I posted in another thread. I haven't physically gone in yet. They are telling me to go in for a test drive and do some numbers. I graduated from CSUS just this past May. Major was for Criminal Justice. Aspiration for law enforcement in a couple of years.

^^^^ My credit score is close to yours and I got a good APR; dealer offered me 9.9% and said I would not do better even with my credit score because I was a "first time buyer," though I was really only a first time financer. I laughed and showed them a rate he couldnt touch 2 days later. My car payment is less than 10% of my income and I still thought twice about. I also just graduated from college like you but fortunately, got hired by the company I did my internship with that I've been with for about two years. Like you, I pay on credit cards right now as well, but assuming things go according to plan, all will be paid off by May 2009. I also pay no rent/mortgage, though if I needed to I could make lifestyle changes and still afford my car; this was a strong consideration when I really thought about it as I foresee buying a home sooner than later. My insurance price isnt bad either for my two cars and at the end of the day I can still go out and have a good time on the weekends and go on vacation(s).

I would not sacrifice quality of life so you can afford to put gas in your car; you'll only end up racking up more debt on your credit cards.

BTW can't you by a house in the Elk Grove area now for less than a new Z? haha... Just kidding!

http://www.imakenews.com/elkgroveni/...JTyqT,bbgwHHWL

tempting...or wait? I can probably haggle them down some more because they want to get rid of their 08 Zs. When does the 370Z actually are scheduled to hit the dealerships?

PAT- my rate was settled at 11.2%, i know its WAy high, but it was 12.5% when my saleman came back the first time! This was the FIRST thing i ever financed. And i didnt have a down payment. I figure, hell next time itll be lower. I actually got approved for a GT-R at 5%. So it has improved, credit score at time of buying was right over 700 (cc my parents had for me, and one i used to put gas on and paid off every other month, and a 5k loan from bank that i paid back with its own money is how i established credit).

That's ridiculous - you accepted that rate? Did you pay MSRP + mark-up too? If your credit score was over 700 and you knew this you should have shopped for a better rate.

All previous debts were paid in full. My 370z is the base w/ sport package 6mt, illuminated door sills, floor mats, and mud guards. Bought it for $31,9xx. Out the door price was $34,1xx. I had just bought and closed a home as well. Too bad I can't transport anything with the Z...hehe.
