New 08 350Z Enthusiast or Used C6 Corvette???
So I am going to be purchasing a new car in the near future. I am looking at numerous cars, but the two in-particular that I really like and want to look at very seriously are a 2008 350Z Enthusiast (will be bought new) and a C6 Corvette. The only problem I am having is deciding on which one to purchase.
I have yet to test drive either car (will be doing so soon), but from the knowledge I already have on both vehicles it seems like the Corvette is better in every way. The Corvette I have found only has 12 thousand miles on it and costs only a couple hundred dollars more than what the Z would cost me.
So I just wanted to throw this thread out there and see what you guys think. Which one would you go with???

Ya, but the majority of Z owners probably weren't deciding between a C6 Corvette or a Z! The MSRP of a C6 Corvette new is 46K while the most expensive Z's MSRP I believe is 38K. That's why I have to go used with the Corvette. My budget can't go over 30K. I was simply asking people's personal opinion which they'd rather have (regardless of whether or not they currently drive a Z [maybe they couldn't afford a Corvette at the time of purchase]).
Good point, I just don't get why anyone would ask this type of question on a mostly bias forum. Get what you want...at the end of the day you'll be the one making the payments. G/L.
BTW: I've owned both, vette all the way. I sold my C6 to save for the C6 Z06.

Ya, I definitly have to get out there and get a test drive in both of them. In the end that will be the deciding factor as to which car I end up purchasing. Just wanted to see what the community here thought on the topic. Thanks for your input.
I've just seen a lot of posts regarding the idea of buying either a Corvette or a Z on this site so I assumed there were some Corvette enthusiasts here too. Anway, thanks; glad to hear from someone with personal experience with both cars.

This. The Corvette is in a totally different class. Yes, the most expensive new Z's start at ~$38k, but remember, the only main differences between the Base model and the GT are the options. Just based on power delivery, you're looking at a 6.0L 400HP LS2 V8 vs 3.5L 306HP VQ35HR. Slap an intake and exhaust on the 'Vette and you've probably got another 20-30HP or so (Corvettes choke out of the factory.... Z06's gain 40-50 just from those upgrades). Looking at nothing else, the Corvette is the obvious choice. Essentially you're looking at a race-bred poor man's supercar (most people forget the base C6 hits 60 in just 4.2 seconds, which is in the 360 Modena range) against a mid-range sports car.
HOWEVER, an important thing to ask is whether this car will be your daily driver. If you plan in driving the C6 every day and you live in an area with poor roads / lots of snow, you might think twice about getting it. But in the end it's how you feel driving it that will sell you or not. Test drive both of them and you'll probably know which one you like better the second you step foot inside.

I personally have never liked the seating positions in Vettes. Though I have not driven one in years, I suspect the vette is not nearly as comfortable for cruising 300+/- a day as the Z.
If performance is your only criteria, Vette wins.

No way man! I'd never buy a car if I didn't like the exterior look of it. Doesnt' matter to me which one performs better stock because I do not plan on keeping my 350 stock at all.
