Violating what warranty? The car or the seats'? Modifying the seats isn't going to violate the car's warranty.

A warranty is only violated if they can prove the modification caused a problem.

"Well yes, your transmission did fail and it is under warranty, but since these cloth seats were wrapped in leather, we can't honor the warranty." I can just see it now

That price sucks and it is definitely weird that it has the Bose HU and the seats definitely look like an aftermarket job.

Even Stevie Wonder could have told you it was a Base. Key points are the steering wheel controls are missing and the non-aluminum pedals.

Why is he saying rebates are 5k? nissanusa.com says its a 2500 rebate or a lower apr.

Bullsht!

Somebody post a link to ANY dealer ANYWHERE in the US where they are asking less than invoice price. Watch - nobody will.

Invoice = 27409. I'm not saying you can't get one for less than that. Add in the 2500 rebate and you're down to around 24-25k. If anyone claims to have gotten a NEW Z for 21k, they are lying.

There's also a $2500 manufacturer to dealer rebate. If the dealer wants to sell their remaining cars, they will pass this savings on to the customer.

No they are not. Back in December some california dealers were advertising $10k off all '08 Zs. Dealers get additional bonuses for selling X number of cars. If they're near that number they will again pass those savings on to the customer to get the bonus and move more cars.

Can someone give me more info on this $2500 manufacturer to dealer rebate? Maybe point me to a thread that talks more about it? I might buy an 08 this weekend (not the one with crappy leather) and would like to have all the info on these 2 rebates. Thanks.

Up to $2500 to consumer and up to $2500 to dealer. I don't see what the expiration date is. It may have been March 31st.

And why don't you check out the very right of the seats, there are no power controls.....and the leather is wrinkly on the side and OEM is as smooth as a whistle. What might have happened is the dealer wrapped the cloth seats in leather.

that car is def a base

Thanks Blu - I'll print this out and bring it to the dealer. I'm sure they'll have some bs reasons for why they won't get the 2500 manufacturer to dealer, but I am going to assume that they will.

Oh didn't you know. Everyone gets a new 350Z for $21,000. No one no one scans and posts a contract. But that's beside the point.

The salesperson will say "Oh the rebate is in the price."

Is the base your first choice? Figure what you are willing to pay. $21. $22. $23. Make your offer.

I don't understand how this is a base yet it has the Bose system.

It's almost like what someone mentioned early in the thread- like Nissan had leftover parts.

I can't see them installing the headunit without the corresponding amps and sub (is the Bose system individually amplified for each speaker like in other Bose-equipped cars? not sure- I own a "real" base)

Regardless, don't pay over 23k for that car, in my opinion. If you can get it for that or less, it's a fine car for the money.

Assume that you are upside-down on a loan. Yes. THe dealer might add the difference to the new loan.
