Default What year to buy?

I sadly traded my '03 z back in '05 and looking to buy another. I have heard a lot of problems with the '06 oil consumption. I am looking at a '07 model? Pros and Cons to the new motor with the dual intakes, any problems?

from what I've read in past articles is that the 05 has had the least probs noted... Havent really heard anything about 08's, but majority of issues is really dependent upon the usage of the car and the driver as well. Either way it's your choice.

06's consume oil. Some more than others. Drive the crap out of it, see if it consumes oil. If it does, you can get a free engine if you have less than 60k on it. It's prob worth it to know your stuff about the "official oil consumption tsb."

Get a free $10k engine. Be persistent. Not a bad deal.

Or buy a high miliage '03 for like 8 grand. rebuild the engine, put in a newer CD009 tranny, Go FI. And STILL come out in the end with a big $$$ savings, and one hell of a car!!

Go for a 07 or 08. Only problem with 07 was the clutch, not sure if there was a recall or what. Haven't heard of any trouble with the 08's so far!!

Same here. I hate seeing threads when people who don't even own 06's make the claim that ALL 06's have the oil consumption. They don't mostly it's with the Roadsters.

I don't see anyone claiming all 06's have the problem. I see people advising it's easier to just stear clear of 06's because of it. I mean, you're already looking really close at 07 cost territory anyways, might as well get the HR and piece of mind.
