2008 Z with 30k Miles. Worth it?
Hey, so a friend of mine who loves my Z so much found a 2008 350z Touring with 30K miles. Car is in perfect condition and the price is great. Car is at a local dealership. Had 1 owner they said, an elderly person who went on road trips all the time...dont know if its true, but Car has been well taken care of and it shows, but hes skeptical about the high mileage. I mean the car is almost 2 years old, but just wanted to see what you guys thought.

I just paid 22k for my 08. Mine had a clean carfax, is mint, and 22 is between the trade in and private party. Id say 20 is a good deal, depending on your area, though you might look at autotrader.com and other sites like it and search about 300-500 miles if your willing to travel. My problem is I live in a fairly rural area and there was a selection of 3 Z's within 100 miles at the dealerships and through private parties. I ended up traveling 200 miles (found it through autotrader private party) to buy one. Course, the one I got has 2500 miles, was bought new in December and has been in a garage for 4 months. I was willing to pay a few extra pennies for a basically brand new Z. Someone else took the depreciation hit for me. Search for a private party before you pull the trigger. Thats where the gems can be found with any used car, not just Z's. Dealerships are famous for the "old person drove it", "all interstate miles", etc etc.
There's always a chance you get a crooked private party of course, but 9 out of 10 are not professional liars. My experience through years of car trading says that 9 out 10 dealer salesmen are!
And if you do find a salesman that you like and trust, stick with them in the future! The honest ones definitely deserve your return business.
Good luck!
