Default Be prepared,when u finance your Z

I would urge everyone to be prepared when they are ready to pickup their new Z...

It pays to get as much information as possible in terms of financing..

Some dealers will try to get more out of you when you finance your Z, since they can't charge over MSRP...

In my case, at first I was gonna Lease my Z.. I had all the information with me on hand for Leasing rate.. ( Money factor=.0028, risidual=56% for 36months 15k/yr, with $3000 down, I had an estimate payment of $550.00 ) But, the dealer actually quoted my a monthly payment of $720.00....and they refused to show me the details....

Fortunately, I was prepared for that, before I went to pickup my Z, I had already got a Finance Check from Peoplefirst.com...5.49% APR 60 months..... So, immediately I pull out the PeopleFirst's check, and paid off the Z right there....

The dealer was kinda shock...and I know they weren't happy about it.... So...I was given the WORST SERVICE EVER....for delivering a new car....

After the completion of paperwork..... the Fleet Mgr just handed me the keys and the Car.... they absolutely did not go over a single thing with me...on the Z....no explaination...and no going over any single feature.....

However, at the end...the Fleet manager still have the nerve to tell me that....I will receive a survey from Nissan from the mail... and he asked me to mark Excellent on Everything.... haha ....Folks...What should I write in the survey ?

Fortunately, .... I have this forum...and already knows all the features...for my Z.....

I wont to tell you what to say I will let your concience dictate that, but I definetly know what I am going to say and I may not wait until the survey, I may do it right after I get the keys, they have been the most useless pieces of Sh&#, no customer service what so ever, not a single call so far and when they had a Z in for training this week they didn't even call, I happen to be by and then they totally ignored me and not a single offer to take a look at the car or sit in it, I am primed and ready to unload all of my pent up frustration on them.

I would be very happy if he just handed me the keys, thats what I want.

If you dont kow all the features, more like everything on the car, after being on this forum so long, then.... I dont know.

I went by there yesterday, since I noticed that they had a PPW track on the floor and I wanted to take a look. The sticker they had on it had a 7k markup, but they said it was for a pre-order customer. I asked the guy if they were going to mark them all up like that and he laughed and said, "oh no..... the rest will be marked up 5k." I, unfortunately due to many reasons, didn't make it into the pre-order, but I am ready to buy. I asked him about ordering one and he said that I would have to put down a $3500 non refundable deposit today, and then pay $5k over msrp in 3 months when it came in. When I finally caught my breath after laughing so hard, I told him he wont be seeing me again. I know I am going to have to look around hard to find a Z at MSRP, but I am sure that I will find one, and although it is hard, I will try to be patient.

Go try Diritos Brothers Nissan at Walnut Creek, they are a new Nissan Dealer that just came on board 6 months ago, and I think they are still selling at MSRP.

Well, here's how it works, you give me excellent service then you don't even have to ask how I will reply to the survey.

If I were you, I would let it rip when you get that survey call!

What a shame these cars are being sold by such third rate dealers!

Great post Skywalk. It really pays to educate and prepare yourself. The dealers kind of bank on the fact that we, as consumers, do not inform ourselves of our options and what's available.

Kudos to ya and thanks for posting that story and helping us other buyers out too.

You could also try NorthBay Nissan in Petaluma.

L Mann was nice enough to call me when he was at AAA across the street from my office getting insurance stuff done and he let me sit in his car and rev the engine. LOL L Mann! Anyway, he's gotten all of his cars since 1990 from Northbay, (3 300's total) as well as this CS 350 Z. He tells me that Greg, the co-owner is a true Z enthusiast (knows tons about the car, more than most dealers I'm sure) and he is planning on NEVER SELLING A Z AT OVER MSRP! MIght want to call them up and ask for Greg and see what he says. BTW:

I pre-ordered in April and had to back out due to financial reasons and he was great to talk to. Faxed my order form over to me with all costs listed w/in 5 minutes of our phone conversation and then faxed it immediately to Nissan. As far as I know, he's selling my cancellation to someone else at MSRP. At least that's what he did for L Mann.
