Help! Which Z should I buy?
Which of these two Z's would you choose? One is an Enthusiast and the other a Touring. The CarFax shows that the '08 was in an accident while the '07 is clean. Also, I've heard that some '07's have clutch problems. Are there any problems with the 08's? Thanks!

They are both roughly the same price with slight mileage difference (PPW: 24,539 / Redline: 17,334). Which color do you prefer? Do you mind the 6,000 mileage difference? They are both nice, however if you are wary about the accident reported on the 2008, go with the other one.

Thanks for the advice. Are the breaks and suspension the same on the Touring and Enthusiast?
Also, I know the '08 Touring has the Bose. Is there really a big difference between the sound quality? I heard the standard sound system sucks.
In addition, the 07 was owned by a smoker. There's no way to get the smell out is there? Maybe I could get it cheaper?

Personally I'd get the touring, but that is cuz I like the leather in Nissan / Infiniti. I sat in a 350z Base and the cloth was horrible. Just my opinion tho. Might want to check things out in person.
But from those 2 choices, I'd pass on both. 1st one had accident dmg, 2nd one had smoker. But again I'm more picky on what I buy. If you can deal with it, then go for it ;o

If only I was closer..

Take a look at both in person. If the 2008 seems clean (you can always have it looked over by a mechanic), go for it. It might have only been a fender bender. If you still can't make a decision after looking at both cars (given the smoking/accident factors), keep searching.

Thanks for all the help! Unfortunately, I'm too far away to look at the '08. It's about six hours from me.
The '07 I was able to see before they even had a chance to clean it up. It was a lease and had a couple of large, deep scratches on the hood and bumper and some other minor body damage. They did paint it and clean it up. It looks good now, but I'm not happy with the trim level and they fact that its stinks like smoke. I think I'm going to pass on both.
Unfortunately, where I live, there aren't too many Z's around.

You kno, New Jersey ain't too far from PA. That Autotrader link that I linked in my prev post is to a 08 GT with Nav. Only 2200 miles on the car. I was thinking about getting that one but it's way too far from me ;\ Spoke to the sales guy and they said the owner of that car had 8 cars which is why that one is so low mileage. But that car is literally NEW. I'd take it over some of the used 370z.

I just got a good offer on the 2007 Z I was looking at in Ohio. I wasn't going to take it, but now I don't think I should pass it up.
Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Bedford Ohio area that can inspect the car before I buy it?
Thanks!

You might want to check the North Central regional sub-forum (better yet, the Official Ohio thread). Ask around and maybe a local member/mechanic will inspect the car for you.

I got an independent mechanic to inspect the '07 Enthusiast today. He said that mechanically, it was in excellent shape. However, the car was a lease and the body showed it. The mechanic said that there was no evidence of a wreck, but it that with all the deep scratches everywhere, the entire car might need repainted?!
I spoke to the salesman about this and he talked to his bodyshop. He claims that he will take care of everything, even put it in writing, if I give him a $1K deposit. I'm a bit leary of this offer...
Bottom line is that he's asking $23K for the Z. Do you think I should try to get him down to $21K or maybe $20K and take the car as is? I could use the money to get it done at the place of my choice. What are your thoughts!
Also, I want to thank all of you out there for all the help, especially the forum member who stopped by the dealership today and looked over the car for me!
This biggest problem that I'm having with Z shopping, is that there aren't many of these cars in my area.

Other than the Touring having VDC, and the Enthusiast having TCS, are there any other differences that effect performance? The breaks and suspension are the same in both models, right?
