Really? I have been using Mothers polish but, if that gets them clean I am picking some up. I have tried MacGuire's Hot Rims on the tips when I am washing and it gets them 85% clean but, Mothers really brings out the shine..

I wash the exhaust tips before it gets too dirty. I never let any dirt sit on my Z for long. I also clean the wheels once a week. Its so much easier to clean when it doesnt get too dirty.I have one of the cleaniest Zs.

Since I have a beater car. The Z is covered up most of the time. I dont take it out when its crappy out. When I first bought the Z. I used it daily to drive to work. In the winter I used to freeze my *** off every week at the self service car wash. Now I dont have to worry about getting salt on the Z!

Get some nice chrome polish. That will also remove the blue tint you may have from the heating of the chrome.

I hear that mother's polish works really well. I used to use this stuff for motorcycles and what not, but I ran out a long time ago and I can't even remember what it was. I'll look around later and post if I find the stuff, it worked like a dream.

I use Mother's Mag and Aluminium Polish. Makes them very shiny and reflective like a mirror and it only takes one minute to do it, I was surprised with the results conidering that my car has 40,000km on it and i've not cleaned the tips once. If you want even better result follow the Mag and Aluminium polish with Mothers Billet, it's a lot finer and it's aparently best to apply it and work it with a ruber glove not to introduce any marring and scrathing.

Just get the Mag and Aluminium Polish, If you have a lot of gunk there, you might want to apply tar remover first, wash it off, then use the polish.

I tried the Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish, let that sit for a few minutes & wiped it off. Then, I followed-up w/ the Mother's Billet Polish. Same process. Neither of those did sh*t to my stock pipes.

What type of rag do you guys use to apply this stuff? Also, to wipe it off? I used a Viking 100% cotton terry towel (bought from Murray's Auto chain), but it seemed kinda cheap.

Another Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish user here. I've used it on my tips twice. My tips are always... always... always sparkling. And this is my daily driver. Even through the winter with all the salt and grime. I use a cut-up fieldcrest towel. The secret is to apply some Zaino on the tips at the same time you apply it on the car. It really keeps the tips clean for long periods of time. Also when I wash the car, I clean the exhaust tips with a regular sponge.

Dirty exhaust tips are a huge pet peeve of mind at all the car meets. Everyone has blinged out wheels and detailed paint, but dirty tips.

I wash my tips every time I wash and apply Turtle Wax Alum Polish. That is something I have never seen anyone clean at shows. Others in my Z club were very surprised when they noticed how clean my Z is.

Of course it didn't work, that's because you didn't read the instructions! It's a polish, what that means that you need to rub that stuff in and work it in. Applying and waiting will do nothing. What you need to do is rub it in (as in polish, use some elbow greas) until you get black residue on the terry towel, when the polish turns black it means that it's working.

Next time before you critisize something I recommend to read the instructions.

My post should've said: "I applied it (meaning rubbed it in), then let it sit for a few minutes and finally wiped it off."

My bad, homie g. I should add the terry towel DID have some black residue on it.

But.......I still don't know hows to reads!

No worries, just don't expect every product to work the same All it takes is one minute of elbow grease on the exhaust tips and they should look like a mirror.

I did it again today. This time I used only the Mag & Aluminum Polish. Looks fantastic.

Maybe I didn't wait long enough in applying the Billet polish.

Nuff, how long did you wait to put the Billet on?
