bird crap spots on SB.
this is driving me nuts.
WTF do these birds eat? every bird crap i get, i get these nasty spots underneath. and it is permanent. i can't get it off with anything. i even used scratch remover on it, but no luck.
is this because of the quality of our cars? or is it just because the paint is black? i do bird crap check every night and every single one of them leaves mark. ill post some pics if i can.
any way to remove this? its like it is built in to the paint. nothing worked so far. i used vinegar, and gs27 scratch remover.
plz help. thank you.

good luck taking it off. my bro's car got one also ang it eats up his paint. i guess some bird crap are acidic it eats up your paint. when you see bird crap on your paint clean it right away dont let it dry on your car. oh yeah he details his car but can't get the spot off the paint.. so i guess it's gonna be permanent

Yea you gotta try to clean them up ASAP or they will eat through the clearcoat. Ive been having a war with a bird around my house that craps on my car literally each morning in the same spot, one left a stain which ate through the clearcoat.

damn.
this is crazy. i mean, i keep out for bird crap all the time, but there is limit to it. bird crap can dry up in a few minutes in hot weather, and i can't always keep the car underneath a roof.
i just tried some more RS27 scratch remover and really worked it into the paint. it seemed to get rid of it little bit, but thats about it. i am getting frustrated with this. when i pay what i paid for the Z, i shouldn't have to worry about repainting the car just because of some bird crap... and even then, i know there are more comming.
any more advise will be appereciated.
thank you.

The best way and most proven method to remove these friggin bird shaats is to bring it to a professional auto care specialists and have them wet sand the car. This way, he gets into the clear coat of the paint, removes blemishes such as that, most swirls and orange peel paint that comes from the factory free of charge(sarcasim). Serioulsy, though, this will work, only down fall is finding someone who knows what he is doing and pricey costs.

It is not just the Z paint, its just the fact that its a dark color car. Every car I have ever owned looks like that after a bird crapped on it..white and silver don't show it as bad though. Best thing to do is to flush it off with water and minimize wiping as that just produces more scratches....good luck!

I have heard that club soda can take off bird crap, although it works MUCH better if it hasn't dried and hard-baked in the sun. I doubt it will "fix" any bird crap marks, which I had all over my maxima from being forced to park it outside at my last residence! But seriously, the faster you take off the crap, the better it will look.

Birds eat berries that are loaded with acids, the acid can etch the top base of the clear coat and create tiny craters like the moon's surface. If you buff long enough and hard enough with a fine cut rubbing compound you can lessen the appearance of this etching. I use 3M Fine Cut Rubbing compound and come back and follow that over with 3M Perfect It III part number 39012 and then wax or polish that area with whatever you final finish wax is.

i tried what you suggested, and worked like a charm.
tho, i used 3m swirl remover for dark cars instead of 3m perfect it III. i wonder if they are the same thing? but anyways..
Use 3M fine cut rubbing compound and rub the area until the birdcrap mark disappears. Don't be afraid of paint getting dull. After i removed the mark, the paint lost its gloss, but little bit of 3M swirl remover (for dark cars) brought back the shine. the area looks better than other areas now. that is the only area without the swirl now. lol
i got both of those products at pepboys. came out to little over $20 for both.
money well spent.
