Default Claying Tips and Zaino

Hey guys,
i just clayed my car and i did it properly...i think. I did one section at a time, sprays it with detail spray then clayed it, then wiped off. But the surface is STILL grainy. Am i doing this right?? I already put on 2 coats of zaino Z2 pro w/ accelerator, but im unsatisfied with the surface. If i wanted to clay it again do i have to start all over with DAWN to take off the zaino, or can i just do a regular wash and clay it.

You should be lubricating the claybar with diluted carwash soap, not detailer.

Start all over with dawn...

If the paint just isn't smooth, you might need a fine cut polish or something.

Yes, don't use Detailing spray with a claybar. Mix two capfulls of soap (Z-7 or Dawn) in about 16 oz of water in a spray bottle. Use that as the lube.

Don't know. Like the other guys said it is better to use carwash soap and water as the lubricant. It works great if you use a spray bottle to apply it. Also keep working the clay bar to keep the top layer clean. I like to wash the clay bar off with water periodically to also help keep it clean. After you clay the car then wash it using the carwash and dry it with a microfiber towel before applying wax or polish.

Dr. Bonz guide above is good whether or not you use Zaino. The Zaino system works very well however.

Did you get the Detailing Spray with the claybars or as part of the complete kit? I've ordered Zaino claybars before and it never came with Detailing spray.
