Anyone have any suggestions on cleaning and detailing the interior surfaces like the door panels and dash? I am delaying using something like Armorall if somebody here has a better suggestion. The door panels seem to get a lot of hand/finger smudges and the dash seems to need a good dusting. I don't mind a shiny surface like with Armorall but would like to use something that is not so greasy.

Thanks in advance.

All you need for cleaning is a damp cloth or towel. I prefer a microfiber towel.
Don't bother with ArmorAll. Get some 303 Aerospace Protectant. It is great on the interior panels as well as exterior plastic, rubber, hoses, etc.
One important thing to note - do NOT spray anything directly onto the door or similar panels. The rough surface does not allow the liquid to spread easily and you will wind up with a blotchy appearance. Always spray on a cloth and let it soak into the cloth some before applying to the interior panels.

I use 303 Aerospace on everything in the interior except the door panels...God don't put any product on the doors! The splotchiness from putting any product on the doors makes them look even worse. Just water on a rag to clean the dust and fingerprints.
For the leather I alernate every other week with:
1. Zanio leather conditioner
2. 303 Aerospace
3. Water (to clean)

ok.. so if we have gone and tried stuff on the doors, what would you recommend to get rid of the splotchiness?
Actually, I use Zaino's leather cleaner on my interior including the door panels and it works great! As someone else said "do not spray it directly on the panels". I dampen either a 100% cotton rag or MF rag with it and wipe down everything.
Make sure it's the cleaner & not the conditioner for the panels.

Well, it's been a few months since I made the same dreaded mistake and things are just about back to normal on the doors. I've been wiping them down with a watered towel, hoping to eventually remove the product.
I wonder if there isn't a quicker way, some sort of cleaning product that would work quicker than water. What does the owners manual say about cleaning the interior with a mild solvent/water mix? Anyone have any ideas here?
Bixby, does the Zaino Leather Cleaner leave any shine (I hope not), or does it just clean the interior very well? I found it to be a bit harsh on the leather in my Ford Taurus, but that leather is CHEAPO, so maybe it's just me...
Soapy water should remove most products that you put on the door that makes it appear blotchy. It may take a good washing then rinsing with clear water to get it totally clean again.
clean with MF towel & very diluted solution of APC & h2O (all interior trim & door panels) - further clean and protect door panels with megs interior quick detailer - rest of interior trim, protect with either megs natural shine for a completely matte look - or megs NXT protectant for a semi gloss shine...all very cheap and usually local access.
I have this glass and multi surface cleaner that I use on the doors. It smells like oranges. That works great, no blotchiness, streaks or any residue left. Then I use the Meguiars leather cleaner in a spray bottle. I spray the whole seat and rub in with a terry cloth and then buff with a MF towel. I then take the same approach and apply it to the dash and consol. Comes out great and I still have teh new car smell after 44k miles.
