Default Window from hell

Alright I'm looking for expert advice on this one. My front windshield has been through World War 3 the last 6 months. Bugs galore and sitting in a shop for 6 weeks is not a good combination. At this point ( prior to trying to clean it ) the clarity is awful. I'm trying to find out the best way to return it as close as possible to brand new. I just don't want to anguish for hours and find out there was an easier way or not accomplish anything. I'm not neglegent just been really busy Appreciate the advice.

Id go over it a few times with a good glass cleaner first like invisible glass, then maybe use some glass polish to buff out the more difficult spots.

Go to Chevron, get that **** real wet, hit it with any glass cleaner, and use the squegee to get the crust off.....seems fastest to me? Could also go to a coin wash with the high pressure washers, just turn the **** to soap, and get the high pressure nozzle right on the glass, those buggers will come right off...
