It should work fine on the headlights as they are just plastic.

You can polish it to a shine like that, but without water to wash it occasionally it won't last long. Do you have to park on the street or do you have a covered, protected place to park?

I park in my apartment building's parking lot. Here is a picture of how its usually parked http://aonicx.com/350z/1z.jpg

How can i polish it without washing it first? Wont that instill swirl marks?

True, you can't really polish or wax it without washing it first. Without a good washing, you definitely don't want to be rubbing the surface with a polish.

If there's absolutely no way you can get to a hose you might consider this. Get a two 5 gallon paint buckets from Home Depot/Lowes. Fill one with clean water, the other with car shampoo & water mixed. Use the 5 gallons of clean to wet the car and get the initial dirt off. Wash with the soapy water then dump what's left. Fill both with clean water and use that to rinse your Z.

Now I admit, without knowing your actual situation, that may not be feasible or possible. An alternative might be to find a coin-operated car wash - just don't use the brushes there as they can scratch and swirl your paint.

Or you could find somebody who live out in the 'burbs who would be willing to let you use their driveway and hose one Sunday morning.

If you don't already have one, consider buying a California Duster. They work great for keeping your car clean between washings. They will safely remove dust and stuff that settles on the car. That and a detailing spray will allow you to keep it fairly clean and polished when you can't do regular washings.

look i've tried this vinegar twice with two different types of vinigar. I don't know why it isn't working. OK so let me explain, I got water spots on my windows, not on the body/paint. and put the vinegar on the glass it runs down, so i soak a piece hand wipe paper and put it on the same spot. let it sit for 10 mins, took it off, scrubbed and washed, no change. I'm going to take pictures tomorrow. err
