keeping handles clean

what is the best way to keep the door handles looking new

wash and wax them, and only touch from the back side. Also, when closing your door, don't touch the paint, but use the base of the window to close (gently)

When I close the door I use just the corner of the window trim at the corner of the door. Never had a problem with it closing. Doesn't take a lot of pressure.
