First Zaino Application - Day 1
Well, I got a late start, so I only got one coat of Z2 down
But here's how it went so far.
Washed with Dawn, followed by claying with Z18 with a Z7 solution (really just Z7 wash prepped in a bucket) using my chenille sponge to distribute lubrication.
I was really surprised how clean the clay was. I guess I do a good job of keeping the dirt of of her.
I then washed it with Z7 and dried thoroughly (I use my compressor's high-preassure air nozzle to blow water out of the mirrors and whatnot, works great).
I then gave her a full wipe down with Z6, followed by a coat of Z2 then another wipe down with Z6.
Since I got such a late start, it was already dark.
I do however plan on doing Z5 - Z6 - Z5 - Z6 - Z2 and finishing with a final wipe down of Z6.
In between coats of 'wax' I'm going to start on my WRX too.
I was really pleased with how easily the Z2 went on and came off. You barely even feel it against the towel.
Speaking of towels, I like to use bath-sized white cotton towels. I found some really nice plush ones, made in the USA, that are 100% cotton at Wal Mart for $3.50. I bought 4 of them to start and they've been great so far. Just make sure to cut all the stitching and edging off, that stuff will scratch for sure.

Well that's what I thought too at first...
But I dug up every Zaino thread I could find, from Dr. Bonz and others.
They all started with Z6, so I did too.
Also, on the Zaino website, it states that you can use Z6 before and after any coat of Z2 or Z5.
Either way, I don't think it would hurt anything.
I guess we'll see hehe.
I got it from this thread Afro: Dr Bonz Zaino Expirment I

Cool! Thank god you guys replied so soon! I will be doing my first Zainoing and claying tomorrow. Need an early start so I can get 3-4 coats on. For the first time this winter it's going to be above freezing.

Well, here's a few pics. It's only got 4 coats on it and it's really overcast outside, so I don't have the great sunny pictures that lots of ppl have.
I'll take some more when the sun actually comes out again.
I'm pleased with the results so far. The more coats I put on it, the deeper the finish gets.

You guys are rubbing to hard, the clay should just be the weight of your hand. If it takes you more than about 30 minutes to clay on a 350Z you are spending too much time. Same with the polish, just wipe it on very little pressure required, remember that Zaino does not clean anything, it is not necessary to spend a lot of time or energy with this stuff.
