Body paint problem
I got my Z a week ago and I wanted to put wax on it so I wash my Z and put wax on it.
while I was doing it I notice some body parts has some problem that is hard to explain.
It's not smooth but it's not scratched. It's like something got on it or coating is not there.
it's only some place. It's like they put a paper over it and the body under the paper is fine but rest of body isn't smooth.
It's not really noticeable until you see it really closely and touch it.
what should I do?
Should I go to the dealer?
I need you guys help.

are you talking about orange peel? it's a ripple in the clear coat that causes this look.

if so, it's not uncommon even from factory. Highly doubt the dealership will do anything unless it's horribly bad. From your post, it doesn't sound bad at all.

I remember someone posted something similar a little while back. Apparently sometimes when the cars are transported by train if they are uncovered the brake dust can actually bake itself onto the car.
I may have read it while i was sleeping though as it has happened before...anyone know anything more about this?
I would go back to the dealer and get their input if you just bought it

my black 2006 rear panel paint is crap, its smooth but looks like it wasnt painted properly or its faded or some ****..theres like swirls and its not pearled out like the rest of the car...factory paint is worthless...chips left right centre....i drove a honda prior to this and never had such issues...i dunno they gotta work on that paint, i doubt dealer would do **** since its a common problem

Assuming it's some type of glue from the film, try some Goo Gone to see if that will take it off. If that doesn't work, try a claybar.
Most of us wouldn't trust our car to the dealer's prep-monkeys so take your car there at your own risk.

You can wash, claybar and wax your new Z the day you bring it home. In fact, it's recommended so that you get a good clean surface and something on it to protect it.

First off, paint is oven cured at the factory then it has a couple months between then and the time it's actually delivered to the dealer so it's not really "just painted".
