Best "Over the counter" tire shine?
Hi guys:
What a good, easy to use tire shine that I can get at any local auto supply store?
I want it to work well, not spray on the body while driving, and also somethign that doesn't "leak" onto the rims.
Thanks.
Ravi

Thanks fellas! I want it to make my tires look brand new.
Your suggestions are much appreciated, I hate having to "rub" it on with newspaper or w/e.
Def need that applicator pad.

Buy a box of latex gloves, Black magic, and that yellow/black applicator for low profile tires. That gunk will get in your nails and your fingers look black and oily after your done. Just use a lil amount and work it in. You'll get a nice shine but not to shiney, and you'll keep the gel on the tire and not the car.

Ravi, I know you asked for something over the counter, but I can guarantee you will NOT be unhappy with Meguiars #38

I've never tried anything that compares. I apply it with one of the low profile sponge applicators that you can find anywhere.

At SEMA The were giving away samples of this new stuff from Armor All. It a tire gel, not a liquid. I put it on my car last night, it's not my style but if a wet look is what you want, then this is the stuff for you. I have not seen tires that looked like this and I got a ton of stares from people today.

I would say it's somewhere in between. Def. not high gloss but moreson than no gloss. Does that make sense? Wish I had a pic to post. I've found this stuff just doesn't come off.

I like it WET. I haven't really found a BEST tire shine product, seems like most things with silicone work around the same. however I did learn one trick from watching dealership lot attendants "detail" new cars (if you can call what they do detailing). they'd use a paint brush (about 5" wide) and dip it into a container of the tire shine product then apply it like that. it might seem like an overkill, but I've never had my tires shine for so long.
Heh, this thread seems to have it all for tire prep. OP got his answers, wet guys got thier tips and new/dry guys got some good tips too. @ buzzardmountain: I'll likely try your Meg's out at some point, sounds like about what I shoot for, for now though I'm going to go with davidv's Back to Black and see what I think since I've got a decent amount of it sitting on the shelf.
