Finally made the switch to Zaino this weekend *PICS*
I bought the car new in March 2005 and honestly was too lazy to Zaino. So I used standard Turtle Caranuba wax and Meguiar's Scratch-X for swirls. After a year, the swirls became horrible, even with careful washing. So I purchased Z1, Z2, Z5, Z6, and Z7 and followed Dr. Bonz's instructions. It took me 5 hours including to claybar the car.
These are my impressions.
- Zaino is different from other wax/polish products. At first, I thought I was not applying any on since there is no "white" haze to be seen.
- It was 75 deg. and by the time I finished going around the car and putting on a layer, I was ready to wipe off where I started.
- Z6 is a great detail spray. It has helped reduce the dust that settles on the car.
- There is no oily residue as it states, but you can see a tiny bit of Z6 on the surface. There is also no wax "dust" like your caranuba paste.
- Swirls were minimized which Meguiar's Scratch-X was not able to do as well before.
- The initial application was long and my back aches. But I can see future applications being so much easier and quicker than your regular wax.
- You do not have to be careful of plastic trim like other wax's. The plastic does not discolor or turn white when Zaino contacts it.
- All the products smell so good you want to drink them
I'm not a professional photographer but hopefully the pictures will better explain the results.

Looks graet man but get rid of the vinyl bra abd get the 3M clear bra. Works great. I have it on my SB and I love it. I agree, Zaino is the best for black...

Zaino really is the best for black cars, i used meguiars NXT initially last summer and it does not hold a candle to zaino in terms of shine and longevity. I put on two coats of Z5 and two of Z2 this weekend myself. Looks fantastic but my shoulder is about to fall off

The Z5 is worth it if you have swirls (which in all likeliness you do). It reduced mine so much. The paint is as good if not better than when I bought it, no embellishment here.
Are the results as good as I had hoped? No, they fell a little short from what I gathered reading posts, reviews, etc. But Zaino is by far the best product I have used. I've gone through many waxes, polishes, and scratch removers and none have given me this kind of result.
Sorry to break this to you, but...
Z-8 is where it's at man! Z-8 makes it look like you spent all day on your car even if you just spent a couple hours...
It's almost like cheating! I might never Z-2 again because it just looks that good!
OK not true... I will Z-2 again this summer. By the way, Z-5 looks the best with a coat of Z-2 on top of it.
Claybar is not an option. You need to claybar your paint if you want to put any sort of wax on it without ruining it. Not everytime, but at LEAST before the FIRST time, and at least once every 8 months or so after that.

Thanks for all the compliments. I just wanted to share my experience for other's benefit. I am a Zaino user for life now. Future applications are so easy now! I could do a layer every few washes, and it's going to take less than 30 minutes.
We have a company picnic in 2 weeks with a car show. Wish me luck!

Yeah, I did top it off with Z-2. I did Z1, Z5, Z5, Z2, Z6. Next weekend, I will do Z5, Z2, and Z6.

Even after a wash, I could feel all those small sandy grains stuck to my paint. Claybar'ing only took me 20-25 minutes and made it smooth as a baby's butt.

Glad you finally tried it. It's easy. May need to make a drink out of that Z2...or Z8!

damn.. i gotta zaino my baby real soon.. hopefully this thursday or friday.. i have an upcoming meet this weekend.. guess i should buy the claybar and z5 b4 then..
For those thinking of getting Zaino, do it.. I was a NXT user for a year and figured it's about as good, why bother. I was wrong.. Zaino is so much easier to apply and buff off. I got busy with work and couldn't wash my car for 2 weeks, the car still shined pretty good and the dust didn't cling to the paint as it normally would. I just applied my 4th coat after washing her up today..
