How do I clean my Duster?
Because of a special permanently baked in paraffin treatment, The Original California Dusters are made to provide years of effective service without the need for cleaning. Simply shake them out before and after each use. The "dirtier" they get the better they work.
If you find it necessary to clean your Duster because it is too dirty or if the Duster stops lifting dust, it can be washed. You may hand wash your Duster in cold water with a mild detergent such as Woolite, then air dry. Do not use hot water to wash or hot air to dry, as heat or harsh detergent may remove the special paraffin treatment.
on the instruction sheet that came with the californiaa duster, it told me to wash it with LUKEWARM water with a mild detergent.. so which is it? cold or lukewarm?
What I posted above came from their website FAQ so I would take that as the most up-to-date info and follow that. My washer has cold, warm and hot settings, no "lukewarm".

WOW!! what a difference that thing makes. It's like a magnet to the dust particles and whatnot that was on my car!! Maybe it works better than it should because I have 5 fresh coats of wax on (been a week now) but DAMN! It works like a charm.
If you leave it on the newspaper, it does not leave ANY streak marks from the parrafin wax. I definitely recommend this to anybody that loves to take care of their cars!! 2 thumbs up!

.. you already used it? you're supposed to leave it on a sheet of newspaper for 48 hours.. works better if you change the side it's on.. left right middle
Not commenting either way about the duster because I've never used one but it doesn't seem like the CD method would be a good test. I mean it's plastic. It may be easier/harder to scratch than our cars finish.
The surface of a CD is rather soft and can easily be scratched. The theory is that if you can scratch it in just a few minutes of rubbing a towel, etc. on the CD, then you probably don't want to use it on your car.
I shake mine out several times when using it just to be sure I'm not catching any tiny cruds in there. My neighbor uses one on his MB and likes to make nice long end to end passes - his way not mine. Either way mines going on two years of use now.
Yup, the wax is annoying though. You have to leave it wrapped up in a newspaper for way longer than 2 days like the instructions say. More like 2-3 weeks actually! But after that period and after the CCD gets dirtier, it works like a charm!
