All I can say is WOW! Black is the hardest to wax, especially when you're as **** as I am. My 3000GT (the car I had before my Redline 350Z) was black and when I first got it I went back and forth to the auto store about 3 times to exchange waxes cuz they sucked. I've had good luck with Meguiar's #7, but I gutta try Blackfire!

I do have to say that Meguiar's Liquid Gold car wash is tops in my book for keeping baby clean between baths.

Damn! I can't wait for Spring to hurry up and get here!!

Question

Question? That blackfire stuff, is it only for the black Z? or is that just the brand? I'm getting either the Silverstone or the Black Z and I wanted to know if I could use that stuff on the Silverstone?

The brand name is Blackfire, but you can use it on any color car. It isn't one of those "colored" waxes.

Blackfire is just the name of the product. Its made for any color car, but works most noticably on red and black cars. Here's a thread with a Blackfire'd Silverstone:

What is the point of colored waxes? To cheat? I don't get it...

Just look at the pics... doesn't it look like its in water? hehe.. but it did do a good job in hiding my horrible swirl marks though. Blackfire made my car really smooth to the touch. Feels smoother than ice!! you've got to feel it to believe it. My girl also noticed that my car looks richer, deeper in color also. From the moment i applied this stuff... i could tell the difference right away. Overall.. i'm happy with it. I think my car looks better now than it did when i first got it. I bought the Blackfire New Car Kit from http://www.blackfireusa.com Highly recommend it!!!!
Can you only get Blackfire through the website? or do they have any major distributors?

Some people don't do a good job removing dried wax, so the car will have wax residue around trim, edges, etc. On a dark colored car it is pretty obvious.

With a colored wax, it hides this plus it also fills in minor scratches.

I've got a pic of my 98 GTP with 88,000 miles that I took with only the first coat of Z5 on it that looks as reflective, while the car still has swirls in it if you step back. While the picture is nice, don't get overimpressed. It is very, very hard to see the difference unless you are looking in person.

The reflective shots on black are cool, but I'd argue you can recreate them with inferior polishes, too.

Not saying Blackfire isn't great, but that type of picture isn't the end all.

I originally ordered Klasse All-in-One and Klasse Ultra Gloss for my Z and Blackfire for my wife's black Land Rover. I liked the info about how easy on/off both products reported, also the fact that Klasse All-in-One could be used to protect the plastic lens covers and side/rear windows. On my Z I first used the Pinnacle poly-clay followed by the All-in-One. I then put on two coats of the Ultra Gloss with an overnight drying after application of the second coat. I found that the gloss has to be applied carefully for the best results. Application with a microfiber pad moistened with a lubricating fluid like Eagle One Wet Wipe N'Shine or Meguiar's No. 34 Final Inspection. In areas were the coat was heavier the excess could be removed easier by wiping with a damp applicator (Final Inspection) and then buffing. This gave a really great shine that was like glass. I then did my wife's Rover with the poly-clay followed by two coats of Blackfire. Absolute awesome shine on that big black beast. She was really impressed. I questioned the guys at properautocar.com about application of Blackfire over Klasse and they were not sure how well it would adhere. I decided to give it a try on the hood and was really amazed at the deep wet shine it gave. Did the whole car and really like the result. I think it gives the best of both, high gloss with a deep wet shine like the organic waxes. I also like the fact that these finishes should last 6 or more months. I go over both cars every night with the CA duster followed by a wipe down with Meguiar's Final Inspection to maintain and keep clean. Only takes about 10 minutes for both since we don't get much rain and they stay really clean.

Give it a try. Better than organic wax.
