Are you sure you are not using "Wax as you Dry" product (also a maroon bottle)?

I don't have a black car but I have never had any problems with the detail spray on any of my cars (the dark burgundy Mini being the closest to black).

I use it for bugs and light dust, it is not a replacement for washing the car (although I do use it before I soap the car up to loosen gunk).

i use it after i wash my car when i don't wax it. it works great, maybe you are using it wrong or spraying too much. i use one side of the cloth to spread it and then another side to wipe it off

Spray it on lightly.. let it dry.. then remove it with a clean clothe using a circular motion.. you will see it easily come off.....

If it's the quick detail spray then you don't really need to wait for it to dry. I usually just spray, use a towel to spread it around and another towel to finish it off.

You're in NY, so heat can't be the problem.

Meguiar's quick detail can be used both on paint and on plastics, so you can't be using the wrong product.

Perhaps give the sucker a good shake, and hope that the product has somehow seperated.

QD's are almost foolproof, so I'm **really** scratching my head on this one. Are you using a good micro-fiber to apply/remove, or some random rag?

Good luck!

Yea, I've had the same issue. It sucks and smears, etc... I thnk the directions say that if it smears, then you need to wax. Try the NXT quick detailer, worked the best for me. I've also tried turtle wax ice quick detailer, it works ok.

I Only use it as a lubricant for the clay bar. The Stuff is not a replacement for waxing and to be honest, I don't really see the use for the stuff past being the clay-bar lube.

Its main use is to be a "the missing link between washes." Or something like that. It is used to remove light dust and fingerprints. So if you are at a car show you can use it to maintain your finish. It is a maintaince product.

I've been using the Meguiar's Speed Detailer, in the purple bottle, and I've got no complaints yet.

ya i think we need to know if he is using the "quick detailer" or the "quick wax". quick detail should not smear at all, i use it all the time and i love it. quick wax would smear but it is a spray wax and it would need to dry the be buffed off......

I know the detail spray will leave streaks if it's not wiped off correctly. Even mine did that the first time I used it, til I learned to wipe it down completely.

everything is like that on a black car.

almost no product is streak free

you probably need to spray less at a time, and change towels more often.

Default is it cold..

you may be seeing the patterns from wiping

after a while even if it was initilally clear/clean if it cold enought the condensation would show/form on the wiping pattern
