Default Paint Quality (Re-paint?)....

It appears that the paint Nissan uses pretty much sucks! I first noticed chips on my redline at 1K miles, I now have 7K miles with over 2 dozen chips on the front hood and bumber. BTW, I clean the car weekly and drive on normal roads while usually never tailing other cars. So the BS about it being my driving stlye, I'm not buying it. Besides my girlfriend has a hyundai Tiberon with 30K miles and it has 1 chip, maybe 2. We're talking the diffence between a 16K car and a 37K car!

Anyway, I got corporate involved about 3 months ago, FYI, please don't bother. Corporate has proved themselves worthless in this matter. Want your paint inspected, good luck because it has proven more difficult than meeting with the president. But after much ball busting and phone calls, my dealer has agree to re-paint the entire front of my car. I'll get it back Monday, so I'll post a report then. So it seems that the dealer has a greater interest in my satisfaction than corporate nissan.

For those who suggest a 3M bra, why should I have to remedy the situation? It's very clear to me that the issue is with the poor quality of paint used by Nissan, not us owners. Better yet, why should I be forced to drive under 55 mph? Give me a break, it's a f-ing sports car!

Any thoughts? Has any one else had thier problem solved by either thier dealer or corporate?

Ciao
