Not an issue! G35 is close. I had a black truck and would never wax..the paint shows too many swirls/marks. Had to have a fender worked on and the dealer only waxed the section and it looked like crap from that point on. Take a look @ other black cars/trucks on the road and you will see a ton of swirls out there. Dont wax
actually, the key is to wax a black car correctly. The reason people have swirls is they either let someone use an orbital buffer incorrectly, or they themselves used either a contaminated rag or abrasive rag to clean the car. I have a 7 year old black Tahoe that has ZERO swirls. That's because I never let anyone wax it but myself.
The key is to use 100% cotton rags, preferably baby diapers. Make sure the threads are not poly because that will scratch. You need to use a pre-wax product that will fill in the scratches that are inevitable. THen you place good wax on top of that. I guarantee you'll see no swirls. Do a search on proper waxing technique. I'm sure you'll learn a bunch about detailing you never knew. I sure did!

I really agree with TJZ!
(even about the GO GATORS sentiment - we're going to Miami to play some post-season baseball
)
Black cars demand more attention than other colors, because ANY mistake will be very visible. You have to use the right products, the right tools, and the right technique, or you will get results you won't be proud of. Sal Zaino is in your neighborhood - he is DA MAN and can set you straight on a lot of stuff. You can find his website at www.zainobros.com. You can tell him I sent you, but it won't get you anything.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions

Ok thanx for the recomendation about Zaimo.. I have been hearing a lot about this product.. Witch model of Polish should I use?? its some thing like ummm Z-21 or something.. Plus I want to do more then 1 coat so is there something I have to do between apps?? thanx guys
Want a cheap and easy to use product, try Meguiar's Gold Class liquid wax.... Very, Very, easy to use and makes my SB Z look Wet..... The only downside to it is it's durability.....
But, if you're like me and wash AND wax at LEAST once a week them it really doesn't matter....

Showcars-too bad about the Gators playing Miami
. Oh well, it's only baseball
.
am i the last of the Carnauba Believer? Seems like people are into the synthetic stuff for the claimed superior shine and durability.
Maybe it's time to switch over. When i was an undergrad in college, i had all the time in the world to wash and wax my car on a weekly basis. But now, i am too damn busy working.
Did you guys remeber a few years ago when on infomercials, they were selling a water deionizer that attatches to the end of your garden hose and claims all you need to do is hose down your car and don't even need to wipe try..and no watermarks? Where can you get one of those?

I'm still a carbanuba believer. I have a Brickyard and like how carbanuba brings out the rich colors in dark cars. It just takes me time to get a really good base coat going. I'm not too much into the wet look like I've seen on some cars that use Zaino. I like soft, rich color. Plus I like the feel of Carbanuba, very soft. But there is that durability issue with Carbanuba.
But I don't mind spending 3-4 hours saturday morning working on the Z. =)

I'm in the same boat as Sizongz.....I enjoy spending my Saturday morning washing and waxing.....I guess I get a short lived feeling of accomplishment when I'm done. As far as cleaning and polish goes I like Meguires product....When it comes time for a good healthy coat of wax I break out the Blitz one grand.....I am always satisfied with the results of the Blitz.
Try Zymol. It's probably the best wax around. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it in these forums. You can purchase it online (www.zymol.com) or at detailing shops.
