Default How to remove sap/syrup from paint?

I had my car under a tree and and I guess some sap dripped down on the paint, and due to the 90º+ weather, it dried. I don't want to risk rubbing very hard due to damage of the paint (my car is black), so is there any formulas which break sap off without damaging the paint/clearcoat on the car?

Okay now I'm worried, someone just told me the sap will embed itself into the clear coat so it's nearly impossible to remove it, and only way to to repaint. I'm really hoping he was wrong.

Anyone with any knowledge on this topic, I'd really appericate any suggestions/comments you have on this. Being that this is on my BLACK car.. it's noticeable (noticeable from 5ft-7ft in sunlight), each spot being about size of a quarter, and about 5-6 spots. Thanks in advance.

I get sap on my car especially when it's windy (I don't park under trees but there are lots around). It comes right off when I wash the car. Who ever told you it embeds into the paint is BS-ing you.

If it doesn't come off after washing then clay bar it.

You might try 3M adhesive, tar, and wax remover.

It comes in an aerosol can. I got it at wal-mart. This stuff removes everything I've tried so far off of my car. It says on the can it will remove sap. you will have to rewax the part that you sprayed it on, but thats better than sap spots.

It will come off with a regular wash but it will likely leave a cloudy mark as one mentioned. Clay bar it and use 3M swirl Mark remover, wash and re-wax that area. It will be fine.

Hmm. Have any of you used Stoner Terminator? It's suppose to remove sap perfectly.. so they say.
