Question Spray On/Wipe Off Wheel Cleaner?

Maybe a dumb question, but is there such product that can be sprayed on any type of wheel and can be wiped off without rinsing? Similar to a spray detailer? Or could that be used?

Try Meguiars Wheel Detailer. I assume you are looking for something for quick clean ups...

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm looking for! I'll assume it's safe for all wheels?

The P21S Wheel Gel is totally safe on all wheels. Just spray it on the wheels and let it sit for about 1 - 2 minutes and rinse it off. This will remove all loose contaminants, road grime, etc.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a waterless wheel cleaner, on the go.

Ooops sorry about that. The Poorboy's World Spray and Wipe would be the closest thing I can think of. This spray is meant to safely lift contaminants on the surface without the addition of water. It's not an ultra strong cleaner but it should help with loose particles.

I agree with Greg. I wouldn't use Megs Wheel Detailer on paint. If you get Poorboys Spray and Wipe you can clean your wheels and your finish together. You get more bang for your buck.

Spray and Wipe is one of my favorite products. Its all I use when after removing and putting on the car cover on my 350Z.

Just use a little car wash soap and water in a spray bottle. This can be used as a quick detailer on paint as well.

The last thing I would be using as a quick detailer is wash soap and water. What are you doing with the soap residue that is staying on the finish.

Spend your money on a decent quick deatiler. The pricing is not exorbinant.

Have you tried it before? I got this tip off the autopia forums years ago and it works just fine. I don't have exact proportions, but if diluted well enough then residue is not an issue.

Would I rather have a specific quick detailer, sure, but if you run out and need something to use, this works rather well. A quick detailer may smell better and have more slickness due to carnauba and other additives, but otherwise I really don't see a difference.

For showroom quality, I'd stick to a QD, but for a typical user, even one with discerning tastes, diluted car wash soap will work rather well to remove water spots after a wash or as the OP was asking, on wheels for a quick touch up.

I use 20/20 foam window cleaner (if its safe for tinted windows, then its safe for wheels), and the shine I get from that is simply amazing.

After washing your car, before you spray any detailer on the rim, make sure you drive the car around the block a few times to get all the water off the wheels. You don't want to quick detail the wheels and then drive off for the day and have all that excess water running off on your clean wheels and leave nasty water spots.

I second P21S or maybe the Chemical Guys Citrus Wheel Cleaner. I already have some Volks ruined by the car wash guys using their cleaning solution on them. If you truly care about your wheels take the time to treat them as well as your paint with a good cleaner AND sealant. Greg is awesome at detailedimage.com
