Default Can you Zaino in the summer sun?

I know that z-6 and a hot surface don't mix, since it basically evaporates on contact before you get a chance to spread it around. But what about applying Z-5/Z-2 on a hot surface?

No problem with putting Z-2 or Z-5 on in direct sunlight. You put it on so thin it really doesn't matter.

I tend to do it inside my garage however.

I do it in the garage too, but if you do it in the sun, itll just dry quicker. which is always nice. as long as it doesnt dry too quick and you can apply it. but I dont think thatd ever be a problem unless its like a black car in direct sun on a 100degree day.

Damn, I wish I knew this this morning. Could have gotten 3 coats of Zaino on today. Would have looked awesome with the fireworks reflecting off the paint and taking some pictures.

I think there is a daily limit of how many coats, I wanna say no more than 2 coats a day... think that was it. not sure of the specifics, just what I heard, cause with ZFX, you can do like a coat every hour. but eventually I guess its not FULLY dry, and it stops bonding properly.

3 coats using ZFX then waiting a full 24 hours before coat 4, according to sal. Last time I did 3 coats in one day, I couldnt walk straight for a week. I want to test the new Zaino. I got a couple of hairline scratches im hoping to get rid of.

How do you keep your car clean enough to do multiple coats over multiple days? Do you clay-bar every time you go to do a new coat on a new day, or just wash it?

Or do you just not drive your car for a few days and leave it sitting in the garage?

??? What? Do you mean Z6?

You COULD drive your car for the day, then come back and just wipe it down with Z6 or use a California Duster to get the dirt off before you put on another coat. You could also scratch your paint that way by wiping dirt across the car.

The few times I have felt the need to do multiple coats on consecutive days I have either kept it garaged or washed it again. The second wash is real easy.

You may be misunderstanding claybar. You really only need to claybar before the very first coat and then only once or twice a year after that.

If im going to do multiple coats on consecutive days, I don't drive the car. I leave it in my garage. I only did that twice. Once to get my car ready for the winter salt, and again to get my car ready for the summer. By summers end, i should have enough Zaino on so I don't need to worry about protection like that again. Now I just do multiple coat sessions if I'm gonna go show the car off somewhere.

If I am putting on multiple layers, I either do it all in one session all day long with ZFX (rarely) or I just do it over two or three days but I never drive the car between. Ares and I do it the same way I believe. I put on a layer late at night and take it off in the early AM and add the next layer. Then that night I take off layer two and put on layer three. Layer three comes off the next AM. So this is a Friday night, all day Sat. and finally Sun. AM job. This way I don't really need the ZFX.

I may put on two tomorrow (Sun.) with ZFX only cause I haven't used any for a long time.

I LOVE Zaino! Long Live Sal!

Bonz, I don't think my back could survive that kind of prolonged 3 day abuse. Just washing, drying and putting on one coat is usually a 3 Vioxx adventure.

You must be working at it too hard. You just wipe the stuff on and off, you don't have to Karate Kid the stuff

You can use Z-6 in the sun, I do it all the time. Spray the towel instead of the car surface, it works much easier that way.

Yea I also use Z-6 in the sun. My bottle doesn't mist so I have to spray it on the towel anyway.

I use the Z-1 instead of the ZFX but i may change to ZFX because I rarely have a chance to actually let it cure for more than 2 or 3 hours.

What do you guys think about Z-6 drying on the car? I know the directions are pretty specific about wiping the stuff on and then wiping it off. In the sun, I think it pretty much dries right away. Still looks pretty good.

Z-6 is great on windows and glass.

Bonz, what are you using as your Zaino applicator? I'm currently using a small cotton towel, but I find that the towel absorbs and holds a lot of the product and it gets wasted.

Spray your applicator with a little Z-6 before you put the first squirt of polish on. The Z-6 will stop the cloth from absorbing as much polish, so you'll waste less!
