Exclamation Removing wax before attaching Wing

I thought this post might be good since allot of people are buying after market wings. Here is my problem. I'm getting a CF OEM Style wing for my birthday. The wing, like many others goes on with just 3M tape. I was advised to remove the wax from the car so the wing will have a secured footing. My question is what is the best way to remove the wax? I currently have 12 coast of Zanio on my car. Should I wash the back section with Dawn a few times? Do I need to clay bar it to remove any left over wax? Or should I use some sort of solved like "Goof Off" to remove the wax. Please give me your opinions..

All you need to do is use alcohol and give it a good rubbing until the paint gets tacky and is not slick like the Zaino finish would be, most mounting tapes and wings come with little swabs of stronger alcohol than just rubbing alcohol that will remove waxes and polishes.....
