i got a car show comming up on saturday and friday im bringing out the detailing. i have clay barred before and finished up with wax but this time i want to go a little farther. so my plans are

wash
claybar
meguires deep crystal paint cleaner
meguires deep crystal system polish
a layer of cleaning wax
then some zymol glaze(for silver cars) to finish it off.


now my questions are. i have never used paint cleaner or paint polish so im a little jarred. so heres the questions

1. can i clay bar my windows. and will it make some of the old dirt and crap come out of them.
2. should i tape up the windows, lights, emblems,ect. before i do the paint cleaner, and polish
3. it says i can put the polish on with the applicator pads is this ok.
4. any tips or guides you have to do the paint cleaning and polishing.

and can you give me any tips or secrets you have learned from doing this. is the meguires paint system ok to use. my cars chrome silver. and anything i should be sure not to do. thanks!!!!

Yes and Yes.

Only if you're polishing with a rotary or PC.

I wouldn't recommend even bothering to use a polish by hand. You just cannot generate the heat needed to effectively remove swirls. I would consider purchasing a PC though Detailed Image as well as some quality polishes.

Buy a porter cable or flex random orbital 3 white and 3 green lake country flat pads menzerna super intensive polish menzerna 106fa add a good wax. Check out the dodo waxs. Add a good wash soap the dodo ones good get a blue clay magic clay bar. some good microfiber towels and a washmitt from detailedimage.com and your good to go.
