Default Once professionally buffed..how do you avoid swirl marks?

I'm thinking about getting my car professionally buffed out come spring time...is there a way to avoid seeing swirls again on my Black Z? Is it the wash mit I use? The chamois? I hate driving in the sun now cuz swirls look like crap. I feel like a vampire trying to drive when the sun is down..lol.

Anything you touch the paint with can be a source of swirls/scratches. Tell us what you use to wash with, and what kind of towels you use and maybe we can tell you to keep using them or throw them out.

I can tell you, the only wash mit I will use on my two black vehicles is a cotton wash mit.

Myself, I only use all natural fiber cloths on my paint, whether it is a Supima cotton towel or the www.dftowel.com natural fiber micro fiber towel.

You should never rub on the surface of a black car unless the surface is totally clean, never rub when there is dust present or when the paint is hot.

Dont let people lean on or touch your black car's paint.

Ditch the yellow mits, those are BIG time scratch makers, trust me, I have had too many black cars and back in the 80's I was using one of those polyester yellow mits and it was scratching the fire out of my paint and I did not even know it at the time.

You will want to use a cotton wash mit, these can be bought at NAPA, make sure it says 100% cotton on the mit.

The Aqua Dry is a chamois similar to The Absorber, a micro pore chomois which if it works like The Absorber it should be fine as long as the car is perfectly clean after a wash and you have not left any dirt or grit on the paint because those chamois have no nap and can grind that into the paint causing scratches.

I am selling a natural fiber micro fiber towel now, I am a distributor for www.dftowel.com I stock only the med. size towel for now...

We also make cotton detailing towels from Supima cotton.

Cool

I've had many cars and to tell you the truth, I really dont get swirl marks at all. I have cleaned and dried my cars for years like this and I will stay with tradition.

to wash I use a small (a little bigger than hand size) sponge and a bucket with soap.

to dry it I use an absorber (this thing picks up water lick crazy)
here is a site were you can see it http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDeta...egoryCode=3300

good luck!
