Cool Just had Crystal Guard applied, pics.

Okay, I had to find out for myself and I happen to live in the Bay Area. I just got my black G back from Custom Exotica yesterday. The pics are #12, 13, & 14 in the album (link below).

Results: I personally think that the EX application looks better than the carnuba wax (soft coat under a hard coat) that I had on the car before. I will report back periodically on the scratch resistance and longevity of the product.

p.s. - the car was sitting outside and collected some dust, which will be apparent in the hood close-up shot.

Let me know if u guys have any questions...

Default nice

Gfunk,

Very nice how is the shine now? does it get better over time like they advertise? I think I'll have my car done at custom exotica too. In your last pic however I can really see where the line is on your clear bra. I was thinking about it before but will probably not do it. The difference in reflection between the clear bra portion and the unprotected portion with the crystal guard on is like night and day! Oh yeah how much did they charge you and how long did they keep your car at the shop for the crystal guarding ex treatment?

I've only had it a few days, so I can't tell if it has gotten better...

Yes that pic really shows the bra - but if you look at the first front pic, you cannot see such a distinct difference. Anyone who puts their face 5" from your car will see the same thing, probably regardless of which polish/bra you use (also black shows everything).

I think the cost is $400... my car took awhile cause they also buffed-out the swirlies, which is not included in that price.

u can come check out my car/demos at custom exotica on 9/20, 10am we're going to have a G/Z meet there.

thanks gfunk I'll try to make it to the meet. Please keep us updated on how the crystal guard is holding up. I don't wanna spend 400 bucks if it doesn't hold up to their claims.

About 3 weeks after the EX application I finally got around to washing my car:

- Overall, the car *seems* to pick up less dirt/dust than it did with a carnuba wax.
- The finish is extremely slippery, when washing it seemed like the cloth glided over the surface with ease.
- I didn't get to see the car in the sunlight because it was getting dark, I'll post more later.
- I think that the "wheel wax' I used from tirerack.com did a better job of protecting the rims. CG makes them look more shiney, but the brake dust doesn't wash off as easily.
