You might take a look at the Adams clay bar and wax. I believe virtually all clay bars are the same but their new Americana Paste Wax is outstanding. You could check these products out at: www.Adamspolishes.com.

Best is such a subjective word. Go to detailedimage.com and look for your price budget..

everybody has their own definition of "Best"... But, I've always been happy with Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit, and Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0

I love Megs. Its cheap, available everywhere, and works great.

The Kool-Aid aint that sweet, I tried it. It is good stuff, but not worth the premium IMO.

The Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay kit comes with a detailing spray to use with it. I think TurtleWax ICE has clay by itself. Correct me if I'm wrong though... Any auto parts store, or walmart will have it.

its 20 bux for the clay bar kit, and you shouldnt need to do it more than twice a year... Dont think attempting to make your own claybar would be worth it.

The clay bars are relatively generic products so there is generally not a huge variation with the results. I've had great results with ourDI Accessories Gentle Fine Grade Clay - 180 g (great value as well) and the Clay Magic Fine Grade Clay Bar - 200 g. For clay lube I really like the Chemical Guys Luber - 16 oz and the Poorboy's World Spray & Wipe (S&W) - 16 oz. They help the bar glide safely and make the process go smoothly.

The "best wax" varies by so many factors such as your personal preference, price range, vehicle, prep work, etc. Additionally there are sealants and waxes that you can use. Sealants are generally better for daily drivers because they offer far more durable protection. Waxes have a deeper gloss but they only last several weeks where as sealants can last 3 - 6 months. Here are some of my favorite products at varying prices ranges:

Favorite sealants
Blackfire Wet Diamond with Polycharger - 16 oz
Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109 - 16 oz (On Sale this month save $10 )
Chemical Guys M-Seal Pure Sealant - 16 oz (good vlaue)

Favorite Waxes
All Dodo Juice Waxes
Chemical Guys 50/50 Limited Series Concourse Paste Wax - 16 oz
Poorboy's World Natty's Blue Paste Wax - 8 oz (awesome value)

All of these regularly priced individual items are eligible for our 10% discount (coupon code 10off350Z). If you have any questions please let me know.

Not trying to make my own claybar. Trying to buy the bar only and using a simple solution for the lubricant. I always run out of the lube before the bar is used up.

If you run out, u can pretty much use any type of detailing spray... that'll work well enough.
