Swirl Marks
Why is it that I am getting these swirl marks and what can I do to fix/prevent it. I make sure i do the car once a week, I hose it down real good, I use turtle wax soap and a good micro fiber mitt. After each wash I throw the mitt in the washing machine. I am going to wax the car tomorrow, but what is my best course or action to keep this car as new as possible? Also I use Meguires (if thats how you spell it) wax, quick detailer and interior detailer. Thanks
Bring your car down to me ill take care of it
Your not using the correct method to wash your car. No matter what you will encounter some swirls but you can minimize them using the correct process. You need a 2 bucket method. One for the soap and the 2nd bucket filled with water and a grit guard insert. I use a sheepskin wash mitt and they work the best. You also need a good paint shampoo that gets very sudsy so you have plenty of lubrication.
To get rid of the swirl marks you need a buffer, buffer pads and some polish. If you can find a detailer that you trust they can usually do this in a day or 2.

Most swirls come from improper washing and drying technique/products. I would recommend reading our Detailing Guide to make sure you are using the best methods possible. I would also recommend you inspect the products you use and consider looking at our Washing and Drying section for any replacement products. Usually the wash mitt/sponge and the drying towels are my biggest concern. We also have some great package deals in that section starting as low as $31.99 (DI Packages Washing and Drying Basic Kit) and so much more.
To remove the swirls you need to polish the paint with a polish that has abrasive/cutting particles. A buffer is very helpful in this process as well. If you'd like some recommendations please let me know.
To help prevent them in the future again revise your washing and drying process. Additionally a coat of sealant and/or wax will help.
Let me know if you need any more specifics I'd be happy to help.
