Default Leatherique Review: 2 Vehicles - 2 Products

I went about applying the Leatherique products (Rejuvenator & Pristine Clean) on two very different subject vehicles.

The first test vehicle is a 2004 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition. It has the beige/white inner leather which I figured would a great test for the review. The Explorer seats were a mess, heavily soiled.

The second test vehicle was 2004 Chrysler Crossfire. All black leather interior. The leather was in great condition before the test started.

Process:

-Clean with APC.
-Cover center console/seat belt receptacles with towels and rags.
-Apply the Rejuvenator Oil by hand.
-Let the oil sit (3) hours.
-Clean and wipe away remnants with Pristine Clean.

Final Impressions:

The leather on both vehicles is much, much, more supple and soft after testing. Leatherique smells great, a nice natural smell that is reminiscent of fresh new leather. The Ford's leather was cardboard hard. After applying two coats it was considerably softer.

After my review, I can make the generalization that the Leatherique products work great on conditioning the leather but lack true cleaning power. I was very impressed with the results on the Crossfire, which was well cared for. The leather is now incredible soft. On the other hand, the Ford produced lack luster results due to the heavily soiled leather.

Update: After good 24 hours from application I can say the leather is even softer. It seems the Rejuvenator keeps on working deep in the leather even after applying Pristine Clean.

You might try letting it sit a lot longer. The instructions I went by called for at least 24 hours and the guy doing the demo says he likes to go 48 hours. I've had my parent's Volvo with 192k miles "cooking" since last Sunday. Hopefully it gets a lot crud off.

Thanks for the write up. Makes me even happier that I bought the stuff.

BTW. The Pristine clean also has conditioners in it, so it helps with the continued softening too.

I too was going to say it is muchO beTTer to leave the rejuvinator oil on for 24 hours or even longer if possible before using the pristine clean. Amazing product, I missed out on the 40% off deal that was running last week.
