Default Bird poo stains won't come off

I recently bought an 05 redline 350z and the car's paint all around is very clean. However, I noticed there were some stains on the car's hood (at least 5 spots) that I'm guessing was bird poop that the previous owner never took care of. Now its stuck and I followed another members advice and washed the car, clay bared it. The stains didnt come off, so I used scratchX. This only took part of the stain off. I tried claying it right after and it still wouldn't come off. What do you guys suggest? Do I need some rubbing compound? These stains are irritating!!

I suspect the bird poop has etched the surface of your clear coat. I would not use rubbing compound on the hood. If you have access to a dual action polisher, that would probably remove the etching. If not, I would suggest going to a professional detailer to have the paint corrected.

Agree.

Bird stains can go deep into clearcoat. Wash and clay bar will not touch it. Polish is a good choice, but you have to go so deep that I do NOT recommend DIY.

depends where you go and how much time they estimate the job will take. if it's just the hood i wouldn't pay more than 50 or 60.

oh man - its like acid to clear coat - leave there long enough and it will leave a nice lil watermark (so to speak)

SUX! I will never park under a tree again...

MORE BAD NEWS! Went to the auto detailer today and told me the bird poop got so far into the clear coat that it can't be saved..have to repaint the whole hood for about $500 for a legit job.. Probably gonna paint it in the next month..

I would suggest wet sanding it and polishing it to see if it would come out. Worse that could happen is that you have to get it painted which is where you stand now. Might look into just getting a CF hood. They are close to the same price and a little cooler. If not good luck dude.

Bird poo = evil
