Default Blotch on car

Hello everyone, well this blotch has been on passenger door since I bought it (04 Le Mans Z) and I had a paint shop look at it (while getting a quote to have the bumper repainted) and the blotch is under the clear coat. Shop said he would have to repaint the entire door and I'm not really in the mood to do so but am still curious what it might be.

I have tried compound cleaner (i think it's called-the non paint harming cleaner) and no go. It is indeed under the clear coat. Wasn't sure if this should be listed in detail or exterior so mods feel free to move.

Thanks everyone!

Since its under the clearcoat, there is nothing you can do about that "blotch" unless you repaint the entire door.Question:by trying to find out how this mark got there, how does it change things? This sounds like something my wife would ask...
The color of your Z is a difficult match.Depending how **** you are about perfection
(I am),you may find out that getting the door resprayed will look even worse than this small mark.

Sorry no biotches. Im also concerned it's rust underneath the paint coming through. At night it looks dark and during the day it looks whitish. Oh well

Do it right or not at all. This is not the Honda forum.

I agree. Im not concerned just curious. I have better things to spend the cash on than just a door. At no time did I say I was looking for a shortcut and im not some young kid with a sports car. Ive worked hard and take care of the items I purchase.

Typically rust will bubble when coming from underneath. Also, repainting might not be that bad. Blending the color over the spot would depend on the location. And seeing how its under the clear you could probably get away with spraying one coat of color over it. Pretty easy job as long as the color is a decent match.
