Default Z-18 ClayBar on a Brand New Z?

I pick up my SB Touring roadster in Mid-March. My question is:
Should I use the claybar on the new car. I already plan to
1. wash with Dawn
2. use Z2 with ZFX
3. use Z 6

Is it necessary to use the claybar right away? I will if it's recommended. Thanks.

I used it on mine after owning it for about a month. It probably wasnt necessary, but it will give you peace of mind.

Yep! Your Z will pick up a lot of debris on it's long journey over from Japan. Junk from the ship, "rail dust" if by train and road debris when on the truck.

See this thread for pics!

Absolutely, yes.

I also have one very important bit of advice for you. Contact your dealership's sales manager and tell him that your Z is not to be washed AT ALL by the dealership. Make sure he knows this is important to you, and make sure he gets buy-in on this from the service manager. Tell him you understand that it won't be all shiny and stuff, that you have special plans for the finish.

I have seen SO many cars come brand new from the dealer just COVERED in swirls. I did the above, had the dealer back it off the truck & call me; I raced right down and helped them peel off the protective plastic, took it home, washed, claybarred, and started with 2 coats of Z5 (highly recommended, even on a new car) and a coat of Z2. My paint surface is virtually flawless, except for a few inevitable rock nicks and a very few microscratches from cleaning.

My car came out with swirls =(

I just bought my dewalt orbital buffer because most "professionals" won't even work on a black car.
